Funny how everyone will come out of their Mullah’s behind when retaliation is done. And funny how everyone will lumpsum the entire western society for this “gift” but not take the credit for believing in the same siht that the Moroccan baestard believed in. Your fking Fatwas and siht don’t apply in Amsterdam… it is some 2649 miles from Mekka. Trust me on that. Really.
MQ, AJ didn't say anything about throwing morals out of the window or doing anything as equally as pathetic as the director. Yes, he suggested producing a movie but he didn't say anything about making a derogatory one to challenge the Dutch guy's movie. Nothing pathetic about showing what our religion is really about ... even if it is in movie form. Khair, this was just one suggestion ... not the be all, end all. Let's not forget that there is currently a cartoon movie about Islam that is currently playing in movie theatres. If we had the mindset of, "oh, who will watch it and support it", the movie/documentary/cartoon would never have been made. Lots of people are supporting it ... it may not be a block buster hit but I'm sure it will get it's fair share of viewers.
Anyway, you are making more out of his post than he has stated.
The documentaries aired on PBS about Islam (three documentaries in total) received a huge response and international support from Muslims and non-Muslims worldwide. Suggesting making a movie is not as unrealistic as you seem to think. Like I said though, it was one suggestion he made. Read the rest of his post.
And how were the Muslims to go out and make a movie and who the heck would give it any publicity? Are you kidding?

Exactly, how would Muslims go about countering the director with a movie? What were they gonna show? Draw examples from Muslim countries on how they are infact treated equally and fairly? Where would one find such examples? Surely, it would be a daunting task and too much for a Muslim to do.
and hes so coy about it too.. i bet he'd do it softly , maybe with arsenic, and even if he used gas chambers they'd have windows looking over the ocean..
Er, no - not shias. I see them as muslims even though I diasgree with them on some issues.
Who am I referring to - give you a clue starts with 'H'.

I dont agree with both MS and AJ.
I do partly agree that okay maybe the proper authority in these matters had to step in and take action....
IF
this was taking place in a muslim country. How the hell can u just kill someone on the street... OR ... get him arrested and "try" him in the court for saying or doing or making a film that he wanted to??? in his own country, where he did nothing wrong, he was merely practicing his freedom.
doesnt make sense at all. If a kafir goes around cursing the prophet in makkah while there is no islam there, and the prophet is in medina.... hes doing nothing wrong in his own country,,, if u have problems, all u can do is protest.. legally speaking, there is no case... why are u gona try him?? and where? and by who? cos he did something bad that the muslims dont agree to, in his non-muslim country?? i dont think so. you live in a non-muslim country, u live with wat goes on there. you dont like wat goes on there, or it hurts ur islamic sentiments... all u can do is protest peacefully.
same goes with AJ... i agree with the fact that forgiveness in this case was a better option IF muslims were in the power to do so... and u didnt acknowledge the fact that there isnt really a case. its a non muslim country , the "core islamic value of justice" cant really be officially applied to a non muslim in a non muslim country. so u dont really have a choice of fogiving or killing them. you are a minority in a country who has welcomed u to live with em, u have no choice but to simply protest or condemn the point of view of the director while presenting ur own argument, thats it.

but if i come to your home and slap you on your face what then ? well i am still practising my freedom, but what about you ?
dude, u,ll go to jail if u come to my house and slap me. In mekkah or in holland. The point is… by law he didnt do anything wrong. ur islamic law doesnt apply to him in his own country, so shut the trap. and by freedom i meant freedom of speech einstein.. not freedom to go around slapping people in their houses.

The guy WAS wrong to have murdered the director. I do certainly belive that the director deserved to die, but execution is the responsibility of an Islamic state after carrying out a trial by Shariah law, and not the responsibility of the individual on the street.

Just to put things in context; the director made a movie on a Muslim woman who was forced into an arranged marriage, abused by the husband, raped by the uncle and then punished for adultery. It was an 11 minute documentary style film in Dutch language and it aired in August. The most offensive part reported to have been a veiled woman who is naked underneath with lash marks & Quranic verses written on her body. The director was controversial from long, this was not his first such movie. He has been fired from many jobs and had other problems as well.
Now, I hadn’t heard about the movie until I saw the news about his killing. I am sure millions of others hadn’t heard about the movie either. But thanks to the killer, now everyone knows about it. I wouldn’t be surprised if in the coming weeks it gets available in my local block buster with an English caption.
What was the purpose of the killer? Avenge the perceived misinformation spread through the movie about Muslim community and restore its honor, right?
So, how did the killing of the director achieved this objective? Maybe those who do condone the killing (by state or by individual) can explain. Explain how will the people who watched the movie will benefit from the killing of the director? Will this killing help the Dutch community understand the Muslims or Islam better? Will it clear the misunderstanding or will it make the case stronger for the director?
Ok firstly unlike the general populace who base their opinions on hearsay and conjecture i have seen the movie. Anybody want it go to www.suprnova.org and download it as a bittorrent file. Presto.
Now I have seen the movie and I must say i was offended only till the end. I will post my response in another forum here. It is a copy and paste so if you dont get some of the names and stuff, it isnt relevant.
With great freedoms come even greater responsibilities everybody seems to forget that.
