I’m the most undomesticated person ever but I would love to be able to make one of these..

Have never even attempted a normal cake let alone a rainbow one.. do you reckon I’d be biting off more than I can chew?

that girl makes some awesome stuff

Re: Rainbow cake..

A student's parent made it last year...but it didn't have cream b/w the layers. It was pretty neat.

Re: Rainbow cake..

Thanks GTG! :)

I was/am a beginner...not advanced at all..but it was very easy to make.if you know how to make a cake from the mix box, this is super easy. if ure a beginner I would def recommend vanilla or white cake mix..all u need is some food color..and bake it normally. the color doesn't affect the taste..

Re: Rainbow cake..

OMG!!!

Re: Rainbow cake..

I think Mehnaz is an expert in making rainbow cakes …I wish we could get these in Pakistan :bummer:

Re: Rainbow cake..

I have a question Sara ... do you bake each layer separately?

Some time ago I saw a video where they had baked a three color cake ... but the color was in straight lines ..neatly separated .. how on earth did they manage to do it ... ?

Re: Rainbow cake..

^ In that case, then I think all the layers were baked seperately...either that or, if they poured one color neatly and then another color on top...and hten sliced it

Re: Rainbow cake..

Yep. It really isn't that difficult. I made it the same way Sara did, but if you want the best results then I would advise baking each color individually. I didn't have that many pans to do each layer separately so just added one color on top of the other.

Re: Rainbow cake..

i wish. i shud try

Re: Rainbow cake..

Re: Rainbow cake..

^Those are so cute!!

Re: Rainbow cake..

Deeba I bake it in a single pan with three colors...I will upload the pics next time i make it...its easy.

Re: Rainbow cake..

Inspired by this thread, i currently have a cake in the oven! But i made it with 6 colors put in the same pan x2, cos i don't have the patience and enough tins to make seperate layers. Will upload pics when it's done

Re: Rainbow cake..

Waiting for pics :@:

The only reason i haven't tried this is because i thought the colours may affect how they taste

but sara has said that it doesn't so gonna try this soon, thank's sara for clearing it up :)

Re: Rainbow cake..

I loved Sara’s Rainbow cake, I attempted one too but it didnt quite come out the same, I literally had to force my nieces and nephews to finish it off because it looked so odd lol.

Deebs tht cake looks quite tempting to make. I think u might need one of those cake slice things to slice the layers.
