The only reason i haven't tried this is because i thought the colours may affect how they taste
but sara has said that it doesn't so gonna try this soon, thank's sara for clearing it up :)
I'm waiting for pics too, my frend took the pics cos i idn't have my camera. She'll send them today.
The colors didn't affect the taste, although i used liquid colors so it's more of a pastel rainbow cake. Couldn't find halal gel colors, apparently they are brighter in color.
KS09 , that is an awesome looking cake ... I think the pastel shade makes it special ... seen so many really bright cakes but after a while they lose attraction ... but this look is nice and subtle and definitely much more attractive ... Well done ..
About Alcohol … I thought things like colors or medicines that use tiny bit alcohol were ok to use … coz they dont have the addictive properties :konfused : I could be wrong though …
Though I would say be careful about the halal element .. coz Pork fat or gel is used in many colors and that is a yukh option :hinna:
RE: Coloured paste: I’ve never used this site but it was recommended in the back of a cup cake recipe book I brought recently. According to the Author coloured paste is the best thing to use as the liquid stuff changes the consistency of the mixture. janeasher.com - Colours
When alcohol is banned for some people in Australia, they will drink vanilla essence to get their hit! It used to be sold in 1/2 litre bottles, but now it's in tiny bottles, behind the counter. You can only buy it if you look like a cook!
