Guys - do not make it an India vs. Pakistan issue. The same would have happened in USA too. As a foreign national, he was not supposed to carry more than $ 5000 without declaring it to the customs authorities. From the news coming in, it seems like this is not the first time he has done this. Call it ignorance or whatever, but it is a violation of India’s laws. Any other foreigner in his situation would probably have fared worse.
