Re: Racism

and Punjabis didn’t call her racist. They enjoyed this performance.

Re: Racism

Which ones did call? Punjabies usually can take a joke or two and laugh things off.

Re: Racism

There is a twitter on last page, where some Yusufzai is saying that Bushra Ansari, Anwar Maqsood and Moin Akhtar made racist jokes about Pathans

Re: Racism

yes...i love this performance of her

Re: Racism

I wnoder what is use thread title when discussion in every thread is either flooding or anti religion

Re: Racism

sorry ajaz, but why don't people refrain from 'deen se doori' comments in each and every thread in Culture forum dealing with local customs? I have already given explanations why this particular thread gone in that direction. We are okay with tagging 'sub-continent people as most racist', but when someone give reasons / factors behind such behavior (that others may agree or not), then we are not okay with it. Did anyone stop others to explain others reasons (cultural, etc) behind such behavior? Did I support racism in the name of race and language in any of my post?

I'm saying it in public forum now that it was below the belt when you asked me to change my signature. Why? Because I don't want to keep silence on the hatred and bias in the name of religion?

Re: Racism

you bring religion in this thread. you have moked people's religiosity in the name of socalled ziaism several time. you look at our religious trends through the gems of nadeem paracha.
i know indirectly it is a hit on people of punjab. you quote my single post where i have disscusse 'deen se doori' unless someone else has dissscused religion in ill manners or have adivised people as holier than thou?
kaur says religion is also discrimination, you approve it, I dont thinkn it is big thing for if you are asked to change signature. I follow religion so i follow discrimination?

Re: Racism

oh come on. ask PD uncle in PA about my liking of NFP. :D

why on earth talking against hatred in the name of religion is indirectly hit on Punjab. please enlighten me.

Re: Racism

I know but sory to say, after looking at this and last NFP thread in this forum it seems your bayan on NFP is syasi /jazbati in PA forum :D
Wo to mahaol hi aisa hai ;)

Re: Racism

Ok, let it conclude here. Everyone got right to express his/ her views openly. I don't ask anyone to stop doing that and neither will stop myself to that for others.

You can discuss other aspects of racism. We are all open to it, but I would like to to know ' why on earth talking against hatred in the name of religion is indirectly hit on Punjab?'

Re: Racism

you know most of the times it is punjab that brings and approves the ideas of extremism like, stop vulgarity in the name of culture modernization.

Re: Racism

No. Punjab is a tolerant society as a whole, for me. Cinemas, theater, literature all flourished there. Urdu got big names like Faiz, Faraz, Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi there. I don't think that in Punjab culture is the synonym of vulgarity for majority. They are fun loving people, attached to their land certainly with problems like biradri system, etc but I don't believe that they are strict and have closed doors of life on them on some interpretation of religion. So when I or other person points out sectarianism, it doesn't automatically mean Punjabi society.

Re: Racism

i didnt say sectarianism. anyway, happy exercising you right of freedom of expression!

Re: Racism

I am sorry I strongly disagree that people of South Asia, or lets just Pakistan are most racist. Are we talking about the type of racism where speaking anything against parties like MQM mean you are racist to the entire Urdu Speaking community, or supporting Imran Khan means you are a great Taliban lover? If people Moin Akhtar are being called out for being racist, then I rest my case.

People of Sub-Continent have some serious and almost incurable sense of victim complex and this is where the problem lies. Everyone feels attacked and enslaved, don't know if imperialism had anything to do with such attitude.
