According to the news and reports, a group of 10 high school teenagers were playing soccer in the Paris suburb. When Police arrived to conduct immigration-ID checks, the children ran away to hide. Three teenagers, thinking they were being chased by the police, climbed a wall to hide in a power substation where two of them were electrocuted by a transformer in the electrical relay substation. The controversy is over whether or not the teens were actually chased.
I don't think the whole issue is about teenagers being electrocuted. It is about immigration and the pre-existing tensions between the communities. The unrest is manily an expression of frustration with high unemployment rate and police harassment in the areas.
I don't think we should label it as Muslm riot because it is not. There is a community that has been discriminated and being treated un-justly. The French government can't let this go under the rug. They can't just stop this unrest by police, serious reform needs to be done immediatly because things already have gone out of hand.

Its not muslims, non muslims are also involved in these protests and riots, if you watch the news they saying its many people from different backgrounds involved. People fed up with treatment they getting even though this is not correct way to express their frustrations you can see where it comes from, the French government have not really done much to help the situation.

I think Poverty and uneducation in Muslims in EU and US or any where in world is root of this problem.As we are seeing worst ever anti muslim feeling in whole EU and US.
Same things is happening in Asian countries like Indonasia and Thailand and part of South China (Xian and Xinhaou provinces).
About 69% of muslims in UK are comes under povertyline and same can be said about US there whole lot of debates are going in various TV channels how to integrate these young Muslim youths in EU and US society.

UK government is already taking steps in right direction but this can not be said about other EU countries or US. After Madrid bombing and last year dutch anti muslim riots.these goverment have implied strict laws against muslim immigrents. Most of these north Affrican immigrants are living in dire poverty and use to do all low level jobs.In spite of this Home immigration laws in US are just too hot for muslims immigrants as it is quiet obevious why more then 200000 Muslims are deported after 9/11.
I do not know where is this world going to be near future.

CNN just reported a while ago that the Neo Nazis of Europe are heading into france for a face off. If this problem grows worst it might cave the whole of europe in as it did in the earlier wars.

These riots were well planned and they are not spontaneous reaction to the murder of 2 kids as one might think.
Neo con conservative interior Minister Nicolas Sarzoky, one of the candidates for presidential elections in 2007 elections, has a lot to do with these riots. He has deliberately made thing worst by calling young Muslims as scum and riff raff. He has been blaming Jihadist conspiracists for organizing these riots. But Sarkozy himself has strong links to the Likud Party in Israel and the neo-cons in the Bush administration and the Blair’s government. He has a lot to benefit from this violence. This situation is making his opponent de Villepin and his Gaullist RPR party look bad. New-cons like Sarzoky and his fascist allies are manipulating the riots to their own advantage and to start a new dispute between West and Muslims.
