Not necessarily and now we have four varnas but many castes, highest of all rajput are chandravanshis as mentioned in RigVeda, one Chandravanshi tribe I know is Yadavs and they are backward caste now, none of thakurs will ever consider Yadavs their equal. Jats are farmer first, making them peasent class, warrior status came later, now Jains are as vegan as Pundas but still they aren’t punda. Immigration of post vedic tribes had caused new castes in the system, but in punjabi society original Kshatriyas are Khatri, Jats are just peasent farmer caste:)
