I saw the recording of the play…two weeks back…when I had gone to meet Saba visiting from Lahore. Qazi and Moin were there too. I took two pictures on my cellphone camera…which got bereft that my cellphone fell in a water tumbler! Thank God the quick action saved the 1100 phone numbers but I lost some 300 pics…!
This was a hilarious play and indeed it carried a reference to a very senior REAL lawyer of Pakistan RAZA KAZIM uncle to our Juggun.
The three characters EID play written by Anwar Maqsood with Saba Hameed, Qazi Wajid and Moin Akhtar in cast…was a mesmerizer as far as the intensity of laughter, the sense of its focus and the regression to the mear in respect of play’s impact on those who watched it…, is concerned.
I am a big lousy character when it comes to watching TV serials…even my one that I am an EXTRA as declared by the Authorities of TV & Filmdom Association of Pakistan are concerned…but by God, I enjoyed this play with my Dad, My Mom, My Sisters, My wife and a few relatives visiting my parents yesterday night…
It was after a long time I did enjoy a play despite a deluge of adverts..and said it in my mind..pour it on…this wont make me click the remote to another channel..!!
I knew it that this play will be a blockbuster—when I saw through it when I saw the recording of that scene where Qazi arrives at his daughter’s house—from Isloo and Moin is all fumed up as his son in law…while his daughter Saba is all excited on her Dad’s visit.
Dialogues like “Begum Saheba, apne waled se kahein ke gharr se bahirr zrra kum niklein eid wale roze ke unka naam ISMAIL hai…” could only come from Anwar bhai…! and with his wife Imrana Bhabi on HAJJ…I am sure Bilaloo must have joined Dad to watch this absolutely hilarious play.
RAZA KAZIM was well portrayed by mention of his name at various times.. and who in Pakistan wouldn’t know RAZA KAZIM…the famous lawyer with a distinctive wit & humor up his sleeves all the time…
I wonder if ARY would repeat telecast the play…but lookout for it..it’s a real TREAT and hats off for SABA, MOIN & QAZI for a performance par excellence and HAIL Anwar Maqsood for such a novel plot..yet once again !!

This was one comedy drama that I actually loved! Sadly the Umar Sharrif and other 'comedy" drama's/shows are horrible! There was one on GEO and I cudn't sit-thru 2 mins of it! But this one was fantastic!

Your bro may remember one of the classiest dialogue of ANGAN THEHRAA when Salim Nasir tells Shakil "Jee Haan...Aapko Patta Nahin Ke Khan Bahadur Saheb Ki Tou Buss'ein (buses) Chalti Hein?" to which Shakil replies; "Jee Haan...Unki BUSS'EIN chalti hein..aur hamara BUS nahin chalta!"....
yup for sure he does..... and best part is that.... he is learning udru of the highest level.... warna it is so hard for kids to learn proper urdu and pronunciation if living outside Pakistan........... (khair aab tu Pakistan main bhi saab urdu british accent main bolte hain!! )
