Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
Then Islam is not a way of life and is devised for a time when arabs traded camels for eggs. Made up for 7th century arabia. thanks for proving my point again and again. :)
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
Islamically, it means to exchange like subject with the condition of an increase in the subject upon it’s return. For example, let’s say that you came to me and said that you needed to borrow a pound of sugar. If I made it a condition that you return the sugar to me as a pound and a half of sugar then it is Reba. Two conditions made it Reba:
The fact that I made it a condition to give me more.
The fact that it was of the like subject that I asked for more of the same subject:
So if I asked you for a pound & a half of rice in return then it is not Reba even though the pound of sugar might be worth only a pound of rice.
It is important to note that if you accepted willingly to give me back a pound & a half of sugar then it is Reba, but if you accepted because you had no other choice but your intent was not to give me back the ½ pound if you could get away with it then it is Reba, but you did not fall into haram (Reba on me but not you).
Furthermore, if I did not make it a condition on you to give me back more sugar but you as a matter of appreciation decided to give me back more sugar, then that is not only not Reba but also it is Mustahab (recommended) to do so.
Re: Prophetic Perspective on Usury
Some people need teh threat of hellfire to do what is right. Most people around the world use common sense. :)
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
Matsui: Islam is a complete way of Life for those who believe and live Islam. Usury is excesive interest and interest is haram in either case.
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
Keep going..you have come as far to add “excessive” with interest to qualify it as usury. You are getting there..don’t fight it Mullahjr.
Something isn’t it…for a guy who adds atleast one quanic quote of hellfire and damnation in every post, you have done a 180 degree turn on your own topic. ![]()
Re: Prophetic Perspective on Usury
It's called warning so that one can stay away from the wrong.
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
No matsui. usury is interest.
Re: Prophetic Perspective on Usury
If a religion is based on love rather than fear..it also works. Even with warning you have usury in the muslim world..and with love you have laws against usury in the rest of the world. Amazing isn't it...love conquers all. :)
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
make up your mind.. is it excessive interest as you said up above or interest?
How are you going to be mullahjr for the cafeites if you can’t even decide for yourself?
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
excessive** interest** is interest too.
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
SO why write usury means “excessive interest” and not just “interest”? Unless you were confused about whether interest alone as an instrument is haram or maybe charging excessive interest is.
It;s ok yaar..you don;t know. Just ask next time, instead of posting these firebrand quranic messages without having an inkling of what they mean. A non-muslim will always help you. We help everyone regardless of religion. ![]()
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
Matsui. I know of Islam more than you because I live by Islam. You only make a joke out of it.
Usury or Interest is forbidden in Islam and you do not have to worry about it. We eat beef, you may not but we do not have to worry about it either.
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
But just above you said and I repeat "Usury means excessive interest or interest"? Why insert "excessive as a qualifier if you simply believed that Usury=interest"? Doesn't jive kiddo.. I make fun of your version of Islam. Because your version makes fun of Islam with the view you profess.
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
poison is poison either excessive or little.
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
^ see that is where you are wrong and your version of Islam is wrong. Poison is also medicine but excessive poison is death. that my little mullah friend is the reality.
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
Matsui: Quran says to totally avoid it.
Let us practice our Quran. Do not dictate our religion to us. You do not have a right.
Re: Quranic Perspective on Usury
Of course I have a right...when people like yourself who flip flop on your very assertions, have little understanding of your own relgiion go around casting aspersions on other faiths and even adherents of your own faith, you need to be put into place. I consider this community service. Love for my muslim brothers and sisters. I will be around to remind you of this interaction everytime you say something against ahmadis or shias or any other faith. You haven't a clue about yours. Sleep with that thought.
