The urdu speaking people should not really be bickering so much about qouta system, it does exist in USA as well as in India. Those people who have less oppurtunities for education from far off rural areas should be given some thing to balance off the disadvantage of being from under-developed areas. You should take it as a token of thanx to people of Sindh who welcomed you with open arms in 1947 and presented you the best city of Pakistan.
I am also in favour of qoutas for southern Punjab and Balochistan.

Punjab has the biggest bureaucracy so why not invite all these quota walas there?

The problem is that these quota walas come and make life hell for all karachiites. I don’t need to repeat stories of quota walas from punjab coming working as police but then robbing houses, including my dad’s cousins, at night. But I guess it is hard to get many punjabis to look at it past the MQM that they rant about. We would have been a better country if we had done things on merit [ended feudalism system]. At least in the US we have private sector [mostly] but in pakistan our mch*d govt policies have very little investment in pakistan except people buying up existing corporations like PTCL etc.

Funny you talk about democracy when you would be the first one chanting bingo if I were to talk who should’ve gotten the govt in 1971 and why
