May Allah have mercy on the souls of those killed, and may these murderers burn in hell!
Pakistan Mosque Bombing Kills Up to 10
A bomb exploded in a Shiite Muslim mosque in southwestern Pakistan on the Muslim sabbath Friday, killing up to 10 worshippers, police and witnesses said. Some of the witnesses of the powerful explosion that shattered the mosque in Quetta, the capital of southwestern Baluchistan province, said two suicide bombers set off the blast. According to one witness, a security guard at the mosque killed one of the would-be attackers and a second attacker blew himself up. Other witnesses said hand grenades were thrown into the mosque. An estimated 2,000 worshippers had gathered at the mosque for Friday prayers. There was no immediate claim of responsibility. Pakistan is a majority Sunni Muslim country and attacks against minority Shiite Muslims have been frequent. Most of Pakistan’s 140 million people, the overwhelming majority of whom are Muslims, get along, but militant groups have sprung up in recent years.
i think pakistan soldiers or police should carry out major operation in karachi and quetta to root-out this terrorists, who are making bad image and killing ppls in our country..
Absolutely disgusting .... tougher legislation against sectarianism is needed - perhaps such as locking away sectarian inciters for life, together with financial incentives for people to anonymously rat out those in their communities who spread sectarian sentiments.
May Allah have mercy on those killed, may He bring comfort to their families and friends, and may the murderers receive their due penalty in this life and in the next.
Whatever it takes, Pakistan needs to be made a safe place again as a matter of urgency. Musharraf has to take matters into his own hands as the current Prime Minister Jamali inspires little confidence in these matters.

Where are our esteemed religious and political parties today? Their leaders and partymen should be heading down to Quetta today to offer their condolences to the families of the dead, and to march against such hate mongers and terrorists.
That is exactly right Malik. 100% on the button. These religious leaders should be at the front of funeral procession of those murdered assuming they had nothing to do with this, and yes they should be marching in solidarity with the Shias for justice. Pakistan can't be made the playground for cowboys and bandits, nor is it any use whingeing about cross-border terrorism like the Indians. Pakistan needs to take responsibility for the security of it's citizens inside it's own borders and Musharraf The Great must act now.
Absolutely shocking. How could these religious groups heads be at the funerals today when it is their venom and hatred which has brought about these gruesome killings. Surely such murderers and thugs cannot call themselves muslims.

Instead of promoting the unity of Pakistani’s these people promote division, and instead of peace and harmony they promote confrontation and disorder. I doubt I have ever seen the likes of Fazlur Rahman, Qazi Hussain, Noorani, Ghafoor Ahmed and company ever attend the funeral of Shia Muslims or Sunni Muslims gunned down by extremist thugs. Are they ashamed of doing this sort of thing as it would let down some of their more extremist members, that they regularly incite?
Today is one of those days that I am wondering if teh situation is hopeless. How mnay such idiots are out there..My heart goes out to teh families of the ppl who suffered this tragedy.
Murderers like this should be elimnated without remorse, society needs to be cleansed from this scum. They are just as bad as OBL and his gang.
our idiot political-mullahs are against all kinds of lame stuff, but why n real action against sectarian violence?

Fraudia, these people are to busy playing their useless political games in Islamabad, underming national institutions i.e. making a mockery of parliament, and trying to incite the masses in this regard. When all the time there are far more important priorities for the people like tackling terrorism and sectarian violence. Prime Minister Jamali has flown to Quetta, while President Musharraf has issues a blunt statement on this atrocity saying - **We have to act very strongly against them...there will be no dearth of strength and resolve in acting against them." ** I hope he orders a crack down on these people like we have never seen before, and shows them as Xtreme has said that Pakistan can't be made the playground for cowboys and bandits.
But, have any of our Mullah politicians flown to Quetta yet, as the PM has done?
This is very, very sad and totally unacceptable... its not a matter of shia and sunni, its a matter of realization that both sects are "kalma go" or sayers of the kalma, and to kill someone who says the kalma is the same as killing the entire humanity in terms of gunah, as a hadith says. I pray for the departed souls, and my other prayer is that please god, let the killers not be the so-called muslims... Disagreements between the two sects has existed for many centuries, but to disagree respectfully and move on, thats something that people really, really need to learn before its too late.
