*- Do you consider being a mod your civic duty as a Pakistani?
- Do you take it just as seriously as you would if you were being paid?
- Would you ever put being a GS moderator on your resume?
- Do you're friends/family know that you've got authority/exsclusive access to an online Pakistani forum?

Yes, I consider it a duty
I take everything I do seriously. Either do it right, or dont do it at all.
no, i would not put it on my resume.
yes, they know. its a joke to them. :(
Not as civic duty per say, but gives satisfaction nonetheless to know you’re constructively contributing towards community building.
Yes – responsibility necessitates diligence.
Yes – but in an embellished manner under “Interests & Activities”... if people can mention “browsing the web” in their resume’ as a pastime, then highlighting that you're a forum admin/moderator doesn’t sound all that bad. Besides, I am a researcher in Community Informatics, so this interest aligns well with my profession too.
Yeap, family knows… in fact some are active / passive members of the forum.
shikra - you’d put it on your resume?! wow what pride.
pcg - lol family joke, i was thinking they’d be so proud
code red - lol this isn’t an interview i just decided to ask a few questions cuz i was curious. OMG AND I LOVE GREGORY PECK TOO!! (oh he was so cute in that movie roman holiday… )
umar talib - Dang My plan just backfired. Ok I’ll admit it, I only asked these questions to mess around. There’s absolutely no reason for them whatsoever.
What's funny? It's experience. Management experience. You work with the team to accomplish tasks, achieve goals, and to set rules and regulations. I take my job seriously. So what if we are not paid, with power comes great responsibility and I won't say I am perfect, but I try my best to be fair to everyone.
no phatima. my parents, sister, and roommates and other close friends were actually very happy when I stopped moderating, and they were even more happy (my roommates thought it was a hoot, actually) when I got banned. :(
