My last post before I go inshaAllah … to pray and travel back home …

There is a box and I look inside it … what possibilities are there on what I saw?

a) There is nothing inside it
b) There is something inside it

however these are not the only options because my sight itself is a parameter … Which is that

1. I saw nothing
2. I saw something

now combining these we get …

a1) There is nothing inside it and I saw nothing
b1) There is something inside it but I saw nothing
a2) There is nothing inside it but I saw something
b2) There is something inside and I saw it

The Qur’an talks about b2) as certainty of sight - that it will be given to us in the Hereafter … and in many cases a1) is true that if we see nothing - then nothing is there … a2) is imagination but we can’t miss out b1) that is still an option … The Qur’an refers to this as Ghaib … it is currently ghaib and in the Hereafter it will become b2) apparent.

My point being … we cannot depend on our apparatus of vision or perception to conclusively state what is there or not there … because what we have no knowledge of we cannot be sure of … We need faith to tell us about those things that we have no rational access to.

And we are back to where we started
