Question

Why do desis go icky icky yuck gross over a kissing scene in a hindi movie yet they can sit and watch a holly movie with a full sex scene without even flinching for a sec.

‘wont be watching a falana hindi movie cause its got a kissing scene but hey Man loved Jolie in Mr n Mrs Smith, damn she kisses good’

dnt get it.

Re: Question

Question:

WHY do people watch bolly ('hindi' you call it?) movies? Is it entertainment? or something else?

Re: Question

Probably cause it has to do with different cultural expectations. Desi people being intimate on camera is a nono, but if Hollywood people do it, then it is acceptable … maybe that’s how people see it.

Re: Question

You know what I have never been able to explain why but I am one of those people, but I usually forward sex scenes if i can(i.e. in a theater I cant). I find it extremely gross for desis to kiss, dont know why. Maybe because its forbidden, its HARAM. Its almost expected of goras to do that. I think its also because I expect a certain amount of sharam hayaa from desi people and also because I normally watch indian movies with my family and that gets REALLY uncomfy.

Re: Question

because all this is disliked in our culture whereas it is not minded in the western culture. The desis would identify the indian girl as a slut whereas hollywood stars are goddesses 4 them

Re: Question

Because the way Indians do it in a Bolly movie, it seems quite cheap. They make such a big deal out of it. Hollywood seems more natural.

Re: Question

^^ agree.. Bollywood makes kissin tacky, there's no realness or chemistry in it. Just by lookin at it in a second, u can tell its a forced one to add a lil sex appeal to the movie.

Re: Question

Check out the kissing experts, behaya log  :nono4:

Re: Question

Busrting into laughter :rotfl:

Re: Question

Truth be told bolly actors either dont know how to kiss or are instructed to just connect lips and push as hard as you can and then somebody yells statue!

Re: Question

So if they knew how to kiss better, you would watch it? :p

Re: Question

...I dunno, we usually stop and fwd till it's over

Re: Question

i dunno abt u guys but i cracked up in older hindi movies where they show the sky, trees and parrots everytime girl and boy came closer than arm's distance.....

Re: Question

or whenever the guy comes a lil closer to kiss the girl turns away, its hillarious.

Re: Question

I think desi movies today are trashy.. and its so eww seeing desis make out and kiss , yeah mainly coz of the sharam and hayya/cultural thing.. yes its double standards :snooty:

Re: Question

My bhabhis watch indian movies 25 hours a day so every now and then when i walk down to raid the kitchen i pass through the living room to see whats playing. And it was during one of those excursions i had the honour of witnessing bollywood style kissing. Hence my opinion.

My point was if you gotta do something do it right.

And no, better kissing will not draw me into watching indian movies more often. I watch a grand total of 4 per year. They have to come extremely highly recommended by atleast 50 people before i can consider watching them. Which is sad because the last most highly recommended movie was No Entry (for its comedic value) but i found it total trash.

Last good (read: not bad) indian movie i saw was Parineeta. Decent acting and plot.. and best of all no actor had to scream to make their point. Other good indian movies i enjoyed watching were Dil Se, Munna Bhai MBBS, Vaastav, Hathyaar, Satya, Mumbai Express (kamal hasan is genius!), Hera Pheri and Company.

And then theres the timeless Andaz Apna Apna which is in a league of its own.

Re: Question

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Desi's kissing,

Re: Question

mumbai express was awesome...

Re: Question

try Garam Masala.. it ain’t hilarious and it ain’t all that as a movie.. just a ripoff of Boeing Boeing (tony curtis, jerry lewis) but if u like Akshay’s comedic style, this is for you.. i only watched it cuz of Akshay and he didn’t disappoint..

Re: Question

Ummm not really fond of akshay.. liked Hera Pheri because of Paresh Rawal (another genius). But ill keep it in mind next time i plan a movie night. Thanks.
