I think we can all agree that the J&K issue has become a very complicated issue and a major fight inducing topic and can't be talked about until we are j&K residents and go through what they go through everyday, until we do that we have no right to talk about it, it's about corrupt politicians that have taken advantage of this situation and so many different factors/events have made it into the complicated, majorly messed up situation it is now
both countries have messed up and contributed to the current situation.
J&K is made up paharis, dogras, jats, punjabis, gujjars, Rajputs and many many more different ethnic groups, kashmiris are only concentrated in the valley and don't make up the whole population of all of j&k. every region in j&k has it's own views and varies from individual to individual.

This is such a complex issue that it cannot be solved by having this kind of heated debate on these forums. The best minds of the world are trying to solve this problem for more than half a century but the issue is still there.

Jammu Provice: jammu province/Poonch/Rajouri/Doda/Udhampur: they speak dogri/punjabi (55% muslim, 45% hindu and sikh)…this area is twice the size size of kashmir province. People of this suba are Indians to the core.

kashmiri muslims should vacate few districts for non muslim kashmiri speaking population from kashmir province …They have kicked out more than a million hindus out of valley…Valley is not the bloody baap ki jaagir of muslims who speak kashmiri it belongs to kashmiri hindus as well

what i want to know is with what moonh people like jhoom ask this question, when his Islamic Republic just killed close to a 100 people in karachi, happily aid in dropping missiles on civilians in FATA, have its agencies kidnap and kill protesters by the hundreds in Balochistan.
could someone enlighten me how an Islamic Republic can run a police state in Balochistan, or a ghunda raj in Karachi.

The issue may be the one I have heard about where people from over in those countries are fighting for the same piece of land....is that correct? I am not trying to minimize this situation to just that fact, since I am sure that much more is invoved. So, since I am not familiar with the names of places in India, what would I look up on the internet to read about this situation from the best unbiased source?

1 Solution. As India is a democracy up hold the promise made by Nehru (thrice he promised) to give the Kashmiris the right to a free and fair election on their own terms.

of course what's happening in that region is horrible and what happened during the gujarat riots is horrible, also what happened to the sikhs in 1984 but the thing is that most people in this forum are expats or non resident pakistanis and indians and we're going to be screaming with words in a forum. whatever we say doesn't change what happened and what's happening in either pakistan or india in any region of either country where there might be problems.

ok then why don't we all go and live in J&K and then maybe we'll have the right to talk and feel what the residents(of all ethnic groups and religions) go through everyday
the only part of Jammu that has a significant ethnic kashmiri population is doda........but we keep forgetting about the many events and actions from the past til now including the majorly corrupt politicians(of the region and of the rest of india and pakistan) that are playing with the sentiments of the people there
the issue isn't simple in any way. mistakes have been made by all sides
i wish pakistani politicians would concentrate on keeping pakistan in one piece first, looking at all the problems it's having nowadays
