I am not married and don’t have kids, but judging by observation, it is definitely more painful for the parents to see their daughter go. It doesn’t matter if she is moving two blocks down or to another country altogether. It’s more the risk and uncertainty that comes with handing your loved one off to total strangers. (And perhaps the anxiety is lesser if you marry your kids off within family?)
