how and when did ‘me ko’ ‘u ko’ language become standard for cafe??
Did this language emerge of GS cafe or it has its roots somewhere else??
i was just curious…i know there are some old cafe users around here..

Re: Question about cafe...
NomiCA, tum nay dil ki baat keh diya! I hate what I call tapori boli - it just sounds so ugh! Why are people determined to slaughter the dying language of Urdu?
Re: Question about cafe…
Don’t be hating (openly)… i wants factual history about this matter ![]()
Re: Question about cafe...
well here's a thread i can finally agree with nomica on..
anyway it's the fresh lot that brought this language on. and it makes it a nightmare to even read so much roman urdu when it's so poorly spelt too.
Re: Question about cafe...
hmm......when did this 'new lot' start doing this??
a related question........ about extreme-mega-over-excessive use of smileys.......???
I have been told some old cafe people that it wasn't the case in old times........ which prompted me to ask this question ....
Re: Question about cafe…
@Little_Princess I think Little Princess can answer your question much better.
Re: Question about cafe…
May be the use of roman urdu has become so common in cafe and…and calling someone elder than one’s ownself “tum” doesn’t sound good and “ap” is too grave while one is quite friendly/frank with you. so people formulated this I, U language…:halo:
But still i don’t know its history
BTW to my knowledge you never post there..then why are you this much curious.:halo:
Re: Question about cafe…

Re: Question about cafe…
I wouldn’t know how this language emerged ![]()
However i do remember the ‘Cafe’ of 10 years ago looked more like the ‘All Views’ of today.
I do not want to offend anyone, but Cafe looks very childish now. Maybe because 10 years ago mostly mature people had acces to the net and thats why it was different. I liked it back then :k:
I realized i used a wrong word → mature.
I do not mean that the people now arent mature. I just meant to say that the cafe users back then in general were older than the ones now.

Re: Question about cafe…
History? Do you expect me to dig up the first slang post (in english or roman urdu) on GS and post it here with like stats or something? ![]()
Like Dil Pakistan said, a decade ago, internet slang wasn’t as common. I’m sure the posters back then didn’t even use slang like LOL, ROTFL, LMAO that we use often today. So it must have caught up slowly over the last decade, not like it was overnight.
Re: Question about cafe...
no i don't expect you to dig post..........i thought you would know...juss saying...
