I dnt know when it all started but since I joined GS it has been like that...and I think cafe is full of posters who like to just pull each other's legs and have fun...they don't like to have serious topics there..if anyone even by mistakes opens a serious topic..it will get flooded with posts that has nothing to do with the topic.

I think cafe is entertaining...it is an escape from reality...as for the language..if English can be slaughtered with the way people spell certain words these days..I don't know why everyone is surprised when Urdu is slaughtered!

You know, I just can't understand the oh the olden days were better thing... Times change. Do you see the same wicked flared shalwars you saw 4 years ago now? Maybe a few only. So why the criticism on the new users are like this and they use too many smilies and that and that and whatever.

Regarding the original question NomiCA asked, I think the history lies in the fact that some user came up with that lingo, some others liked it, and it stuck.

Cafe is a place to chit chat, have fun and time- pass type of guftgoo. Doesn't have to make sense or have a continuity of a thought. It's where you hang loose and just chill. Itni kya taqleef hai.

I think the smileys have gone meaningless in cafe .. there is an excessive use of them & no one really cares which or when or what they are used.

On other forums, 1 or 2 make more sense
