Britain's government has never denounced or apologised for colonization - every British government has maintained that the countries Britain colonized all benefited from it.

British were thorough Gentlemen and British colonies acquired lots of systematic development through roads , railways, Legal framework, justice system and education from British Raj.

Everyone loves a good knees up!

There were LOADS of street parties. My daddi's street in Newcastle had a party, my daddi didnt go but my chachi fried a million samosay and pakoray and loved it. I was invited to two, one in London and one in Hertfordshire. It's just really an excuse to eat food and which nationality ever shys away from an opportunity to cook and eat food?

It's a day off, whether you're going to be sitting at home on the sofa watching it on the telly or standing for 5 hours in the rain (like my sister and I did on Sunday) who really cares. Yes, a lot of goray do enjoy the drinking part of it, but it's just a bit of fun. It's back to the daily, relentless grime after the bank holiday is over.

It's nice to see people get excited over seeing the Union Jack all over, especially in London, makes people more friendly, cos usually Londoners are horrid.

My sister and I had a fab time chatting away to the policemen who were patrolling Southbank. We played eyespy with them and everything!

dont know what other people's reasons were to celebrate the jubilee.

but i didnot celebrate it nor i watched it on telly.....and i will never do it either....i dont see the purpose, its way toooooo boring......unless i get paid for watching it. :)

I remember when St James park was my 'read uni notes' park and I would get American tourists asking me if i'd ever had tea with the Queen, I once replied 'Every other Thursday.' They were well impressed.
