Qeema recipes

I can make qeema aloo and qeema mattar (but it tastes sweet sometimes yuck!), does anyone have variations on making qeema? I’ve tried qeema phalliyaan (stringbeans) in paki restaurants, they’re good, but I bet homemade would taste wayyy better! I love qeema, and I’m always trying to find some better ways to make it, but cant :frowning: If anyone wants to gimme a tried and tested recipe, that would be great!

Thanks in advance

Re: Qeema recipes

mizzrani can you post the qeema chanay recipe?

Re: Qeema recipes

qeema with onions.....just cook qeema like u always do,and then add either spring onions(both the green and the white parts) or the regular onions(cut thickly) to the cooked qeema ,cover and let it sit on low flame for a while till the onions get a little soft...garnish with green dhaniya....serve...

i also sometimes make chicken qeema with achar spices....just cook the qeema as u usually do,and alongwith the usual spices add quarter of a teaspoon(for approx a pound of qeema) of saunf and kalounji(the small black seeds thingy)....garnish with green chillies and cilantro....yummm:)

Re: Qeema recipes

I tend to make Qeema/Pasta dishes…like desi style lasagne or spag bol, or shepherds pie…they all taste great with the kick of mirch masala :yummy:

Re: Qeema recipes

Use less onion like if you use 1m make it half. Onion tends to make keema a little meetha type. Keema phaliyan is made the same way you make keema aloo or keema muttar. Add chopped onion and chopped green chillies to it.

Re: Qeema recipes

I thought the mattar were making it sweet. Mizzrani, the qeema channa thing sounds familiar maybe I've had it before, but cant recall...can you post a recipe?

Re: Qeema recipes

oh yeah muttar are sweeter... I thought you were talking about keema with anything tastes a mlittle sweet.

You can also have keema with chanay kee daal or mash kee daal, very delicious.

Riya, everyone's exhausted all the possibilities, so it only remains for me to suggest qeema with home made mac n cheese... i made it a coupla days ago with leftovers and it was totally yumm.

Re: Qeema recipes

Oh keema with white daal, keema with cauliflower, keema with cabbage, keema with string beans, keema with lama beans, keema with those ivory beans (i am not sure what those beans are called but they available in grocery stores everywhere), keema with chana daal, keema with pasta + vegies, keema parathay, keema paneer… ok now i am hungry again…awesome! :bummer:

Re: Qeema recipes

Nimko, just use achar gosht masala in keema and it will make it acharee keema and for extra taste add some actual masala from the achar or some gajar ka achar while cooking....

By the way I think Ahmed and Laziza achars rock! lolz
