I know. I was referring to Humans explanation for high cost. That the Saudis are strict when it comes to filming there - they require life size structures constructed. I assume some of the scenes will be filmed in Mecca and Medina.

What exactly is left in Makkah and Medina to be filmed to show how 7th Century Arabia looked like?

All the historical sites have been bulldozed and new re-development has taken place.

But I don’t know why we need a new movie on Prophet Muhammed, we already have a great movie, the Message which did a great job.
