I know. I was referring to Humans explanation for high cost. That the Saudis are strict when it comes to filming there - they require life size structures constructed. I assume some of the scenes will be filmed in Mecca and Medina.
What exactly is left in Makkah and Medina to be filmed to show how 7th Century Arabia looked like?
All the historical sites have been bulldozed and new re-development has taken place.
But I don't know why we need a new movie on Prophet Muhammed, we already have a great movie, the Message which did a great job.

While I agree that the funds could be put to use feeding the hungry and helping the impoverished and sick....I also agree that there is a need to fight propaganda with the the same.

Maybe we need to fight fire with fire and educate the masses that refuse to pick up a book and learn for themselves.

Its not as if NBC, ABC and CBS are broadcasting this movie on network TV.
Most Westerners haven't even seen this movie and nor have any intention of watching it.
Its an obscure movie made by some nut who hates muslims and majority of views on YouTube are coming from Muslim countries where people are sending each other links to this movie to rile people up.
Why such a large response to something so insignificant?

You can't just ignore every single time someone mocks the Prophet especially when they themselves have strict laws against hate speech. I'm sure the Jews wrote tons of letters and used all the means to create laws for punishment against holocaust denial. They didn't just ignore all the BS. An end to this folly is needed.

I totally agree that this movie needs to be made, but the cost is tremendous, but why bother. It is money that is being spent for a good cause and being spent by somebody else . There are lot of misconceptions about the life of the Prophet (pbuh) and this movie might help in clearing some of these. I think this movie had to be made a long time back so that people realize the true essence of Islam

This movie is not a reaction to this movie alone I suppose. It is a reaction to the concerted effort being made some people to undermine the true essence of Islam. 5 billion people have a choice of listening to the other side of the story. It is a good effort and needs to be commended. I understand that the cost is huge, but it is not being spent by you or me. It is being spent by some guy who has a lot of money to spare.

I don't see how making a positive movie about Islam is considered as ape sh!tting? Even to the day a lot of material against Jews is written in West but guess what it doesn't reach the public because Jews take measures to stop it. On the other hand hundreds of books every year are written against Islam but most Muslims just "ignore" it. Look at the scientologists, they have been threatening everyone who's trying to "expose" them and they are very small in numbers as a cult/religioious group. And not to forget what happened to the guy who made Eyes Wide Shut.

let me be clear.....I'm not "hurt" by the movie......nor am I angered by it......so please, let's not suggest that anyone, other than those that have resorted to destructive and violent actions, is going ape-doodie.
I've already registered my sentiments on how we should be reacting to what can only be referred to as garbage.
My thoughts and comments on the high-budget movie on the life of the beloved prophet (pbuh) are based on a need to educate the masses.......not react to mud-slinging.

I don't need to list them here. You can find the list of anti Islam books (written against Islamic faith) on google and count the books written in other languages as well. Do a search on anti Islam groups as well.

I dont think you can win/lose people through movies. Our Prophet Sal Allah O Aleh Wasalam's personality is beyond any propaganda or movie needs for assurance.
