Has anyone traveled from US (or Canada) to Pakistan recently with Qatar airways? How was the experience? The reason I want to know if you have traveled from North America is that it’s a 12-13 hour flight from Washington to Doha and I want to know how comfortable it was? It should be okay for me, but I will have my mother with me and if the travel is not very comfortable, then I might have to look at other airlines which make a stop at London (7-8 hours flight from DC) and then taking a connecting flight to Pakistan.
Any comments/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
I saw that thread before posting, but it's about three years old and doesn't really talk about flights from North America to Doha. Also, most people in that thread rated it as pretty good, but someone I know recently used it and said that their seats are terrible for a 13 hour flight. She said that she had a really bad back pain once the flight reached Doha due to the seats and shortage of legroom. I wanted to get some more opinions of the guppies here to find out if they have had such experience as well.
I haven't flown with them myself, but I've heard the service is excellent (especially in the upper class cabins)...however the airport staff at Doha can be annoying.
Yeah, that's what I had heard as well, but I was also reading some reviews online and looks like their quality has greatly declined in the past few years. Most of the reviews I have read so far have been negative, but I know some people complain at minor things as well. That's why I wanted to get some opnions of people here who have traveled with them recently.
I would avoid middle-east carrier from US if possible:
Layovers are sometimes longer than just a few sitting hours (can be up to 8+ hours). Unless you coordinate in a way that you connect asap.
Their service is superb. Quality aircrafts. It's the time that's a down factor.
If at all possible, use PIA for Pakistan. It's the most direct. Service isn't that bad either. You can get Economy Plus for a few bucks more (If you want, ofcourse).
