This is no doubt sickening and may Allah forgive her and have mercy on her. I don't condone what happened to her. However, when I look at the kind of lifestyle she had, I think what a sad life. It is no honor at all to be called Pakistan's Kim Kardashian. Honor killing is worse, obviously. But her shamelessness was nothing to celebrate either. None of us knows how long we have left on this earth. The brother has to face Allah for murder and she has to face Him too. The killing should be condemned and rightly so, but the whole thing gives one much to reflect over.

Ok she was a bit liberal-minded but no one deserves to die for being eccentric and unconventional.

This whole thing doesn't make sense to me... why did her brother wait this whole time to kill her when she had been following a certain lifestyle for a while now? Not to say what he did was right... it was wrong, very very wrong ... sad and sickening to say the least.

Her parents married her off to an illiterate person who was much older than her as well. And she was only 17 or 18 then.

Her lifestyle was not black and white. She had some photos and videos up on fb but I can’t see how what she did was worse than Pakistani actors who act in Bollywood or Pakistani movies. Hamza and Fawad have had shirtless scenes. She wore western clothes and believed in exposing hypocrisy and double standards. I don’t agree with all that she did but I feel her life affected her choices. She wanted to be a singer/model but had little support and did not make it far on Pakistani Idol where she felt she got humiliated by judges. She felt her only outlet was on fb. I remember reading all the hateful comments towards her and death threats on her page. I supported her and she liked my comment. I feel she was a simple person.
Apparently she had got pressured into a marriage at 17 and had children but there was disagreement with the father. She claims there was domestic violence as well. I don’t know all details but she had a complicated story.
She had told police, government and security authorities she is getting death threats. She was planning to go abroad after Eid. She was whatsapp friends with a girl i know online. I feel she just needed someone to listen to her and someone to support her dreams/ambitions to be a singer..to help her on right path. The media released details of her personal life against her wishes.
She had fled to Multan but not disclosed her location due to security threats, the official added.
“Qandeel’s brothers had asked her to quit modelling,” family sources said.
Her brother had been threatening her about uploading pictures and videos on social media, he added.
Following the Mufti Qawi ‘scandal’, the internet sensation had claimed she was receiving death threats and had officially sought security.
However, following “no response” from the interior ministry on her application for getting personal security, she planned to settle down abroad after Eidul Fitr.
“I know I will not be provided security and I am not feeling secured here so have decided to move abroad with my parents after Eidul Fitr,” Qandeel had told The Express Tribune.
The 25-year-old social media starlet’s parents, who have been taken into custody, confirmed she was strangled to death last night.
“Wasim, 30, killed her last night following an argument,” her parents said. He was arrested by Multan police Saturday night.
Her parents arrived at the Nishtar Hospital and collected her body on Sunday morning.
Her body will be transferred to Dera Ghazi Khan for the funeral.

Qandeel laid to restMULTAN: The funeral prayers of model and social media star Qandeel Baloch, who was murdered by her younger brother, were offered in her ancestral village Shah Saddardin in Dera Ghazi Khan district on Sunday.
Later, she was laid to rest in a local graveyard.
Meanwhile, a duty magistrate in Multan remanded her brother and confessed killer, Waseem, in police custody for three days.
Qandeel’s body was taken to her village, where a large number of people had gathered, in the morning.
Before the funeral, women relatives of Qandeel applied henna to her hands and feet as per local tradition. Her mother repeatedly kissed her hands, according to sources. Her brothers and two married sisters were present to perform her last rites.
Talking to media personnel, Qandeel’s father, Mohammad Azeem said he would pursue the case against Waseem.
“She was my son, not a daughter. I have lost my son. She supported all of us, including my son who killed her,” he added.
His sons were unhappy over “her achievements” and turned against her even though she supported them, he said.
The residents of the village condemned the killing of Qandeel, terming it “a brutal act”.
City Police Officer Azhar Akram held a press conference on Saturday night where Waseem confessed to having killed Qandeel in the name of honour. He said that he had no regrets.

My problem is with those people who are suggesting that she deserve this killing. Who the hell are you and who gave you right to approve such killing. lanat hai aesay logon ki mentality par.

Same here, she's been doing this for years, why now? Doesn't make sense. I heard in another discussion that her brother was a drug addict and she had cut him off financially so the killing was a result of that...that seems a lot more likely.

her mother has alleged that Mufti qavi incited her brother to kill QB. Also the killer was in contact with the ex-husband of QB who wanted to shut her down.

I am so happy that in Qandeel's murder, govt decided to become plaintiff so family can't pardon killers.
An allowance to pardon killers is anyways a horrible article of our law.
