Re: Q&A: Zindagi aur Aap. Aaj ka Mehmaan: CM's Answers

I have been told one post per person. So that is really a little odd. But eh...its gupshup. So here goes:

Questions: Reha
Q: Will you ever get married?
A: No freaking clue. It is up to Allah to decide. But i hope its soon. I need someone to make me a sammich.

Q. Does the Iranian chick even exist?
A. Nope :D Most of the crazy threads I post do not happen in real life and the stuff that does happen you can be damn certain I am not posting them on GS.

Questions: Sahar02
Q: Are you God's gift to women?
A: Hell no. That would require me to be made by Prada by a bunch of cheap Chinese sweatshop workers.

Questions: Sahar02
Q: How often do you mean what you say in Life1?
A: Very very very rarely. Most of the time its pure bull**** and its amazing how many people buy it. It is truly amazing how many people on the internet take what is written at face value. I think with regard to life 1 Jaanwar is the only person who can regularly tell when I am taking the piss and when I am actually being serious. The next is RV. The rest don't have a freaking clue what I am doing. Leads to a good chuckle here and there. A general test is if my post is more than 3 lines in Life 1 it usually means I am being serious, but there is no true guarantee of that.

Questions: Khalil KhaaN FaaKhta
Q: What kind of value system do you practice in life?
A: A *ed up one. Well at least that is what most Pakistanis believe. I do not believe in life defined by the traditional norms of Pakistani mentality or society. This is honestly a loaded question that I can not answer in a few lines or a few paragraphs. So I am gonna make it as simple as possible. A few key catch phrases define how I live life.
1. No regrets: I for one realize life is very short and tomorrow you could be dead or you could be dead in a few decades. But either way I don't live with any regrets. I always do exactly what I believe is right regardless of what society thinks.
2. Why the hell not? Generally the reason for all the stupidity I have been involved in. Life is too short to live with regrets and hey could it be fun? Yup. Could it be dangerous? Yup. Are the rewards worth it? Yup, then why the hell not?
3. Lawful Good: D&D categorization of character personality. Lawful Good is known as the "Saintly" or "Crusader" alignment. A Lawful Good character typically acts with compassion, and always with honor and a sense of duty. A Lawful Good nation would consist of a well-organized government that works for the benefit of its citizens. Lawful Good characters include righteous knights, paladins, and most dwarves. Lawful Good creatures include the noble golden dragons. Examples of Lawful Good characters are Batman and Indiana Jones. See I told you i was 5 foot tall - thus a dwarf :D
4. A sense of humor is key to a long life: You need to have that. More importantly in the line of work I have but in general you need to see the silver lining in all aspects of life and what happens.
5. Religion is Opium of the people: And it is for certain my opium. Another question asks something along the same lines so I will make it simple. I am religious, I am spiritual. But by no means by the *
ed up Pakistani standard. I believe religion is a matter between me and Allah and the rest can **** off. Organized religion is one thing, but issues like the Allah is Great thread is a simple example of the traditional stupidity that exists in our vapid community. But eh you gotta live life with a sense of humor now don't ya? :D

Re: Q&A: Zindagi aur Aap. Aaj ka Mehmaan: CM's Answers

Questions: Pakwoman
Q: CM what do you think on the lines of 'respect for women'... ?
A: Of paramount importance. Its a large subject matter and more importantly one with various social and economic issues that I can not cover in this thread simply because I don't have the right forum and more importantly because I am a man and I do not understand all the social issues and stigmas a woman has to go through in society. But its important to respect a woman's wishes and desires and more importantly one must always treat women as your equal.

Re: Q&A: Zindagi aur Aap. Aaj ka Mehmaan: CM's Answers

Questions: Shak09
Q:Will your kids be brought up in the ways of CM?
A: Most definitely much to the dismay of my wife. But as described by those key phrases on how I define my life and its value system I believe kids would love it. After all I never matured past the age of 2 :D

Q:What do you consider to be sexist?
A: A Chauvinist yes. Sexist no.

Q: Do you think males are more sexist or females?
A: Frankly guppans are by far the most sexists. Even those "liberal" ones . Never in my life have I seen such a narrow minded mentality as I see in Life1. First part of being a mature adult is realizing that you are to blame as much as the next person in the stupidity that you are involved in. There are always choices to makes. Guppans just blame everybody else for their cowardice. Look when you are getting married and warning bells go off in your head and you don't listen to them and your marriage ends up sucking. Well that is your freaking fault. You had a choice. You refused to take the hard way out. Waaaaay too many people in Life 1 refuse to accept their own personal responsibility when it comes to gender related issues.

Question: Sahar02
Q: What does CM stand for (referring specifically to your nick)?
A: Huh?

Question: Sahar02
Q: How much are you enjoying all this attention?
A: Very much. But then again I have a very low standard for amusement. A dog running around in circles amuses me :D

Re: Q&A: Zindagi aur Aap. Aaj ka Mehmaan: CM's Answers

Question: Sehrysh
Q:Tell the truth, the Iranian chick dumped you for your cat didn't she? She knew he'd be a more loyal companion, fleas and all, right?
A; She dumped me for a parakeet if you really must know!

Q: Not relating to religion or politics, if you had to choose label for yourself, are you a liberal, conservative or moderate - and give examples.
A: Lawful Good. A lawful good character upholds society and its laws, believing that these laws are created to work for the good and prosperity of all. He is both honest and benevolent. He will work within the established system to change it for the better, and strives to bring order to goodness that other good-aligned characters might pool their resources to better the world. A lawful good character combines a commitment to oppose evil with the discipline to fight relentlessly. He hates to see the guilty go unpunished. Lawful good combines honor and compassion.

Q. Given that MIL/DIL conflicts generally involve pretty similar issues - what would you advise MILs to do to address the conflict? How would you advise the DIL?
A: Oh great. I have to be constructive. Thank Allah you have a warped sense of humor
MIL: You have a marriage concentrate on that. Your baby boy is no longer a baby and does not need you standing over his shoulder 24/7. He will come to you when he needs to. But by no means cut off contact. You are still by far the only woman he will completely 100% trust in any situation on the planet. His wifey is number two at 98%.
DIL: Get over your insecurity. You married the guy. You can divorce him if you really freaking want but is it worth the litigation? Lawyers are scum. :D :D Though do realize a man will always love his mother just like your son will always love you. And the way you treat your MIL is the way your DIL will treat you. Yes Karma is a biatch!

Q. And tell us what you really think about stupid people, now don't be shy.
A: Stupid people should be punished for their own stupidity. Punished horribly. It is in fact a crime to be stupid. There happy? :p

Re: Q&A: Zindagi aur Aap. Aaj ka Mehmaan: CM's Answers

Question: El Topo
Q: Leia, Barbarella, or Seven of Nine?
A: Hands down Princess Leia. She is hot, she can fly a Star Ship, she can shoot a blaster and on top of that she is Jedi material. Our kids would be Jedi. How freaking awesome is that!

Q: Say you get a hot mother-in-law. You end up crushing on her. How will you handle this situation?
A: Wow...err....move continents. That is so not kosher.

Q:how do you define honour?
A: Just like everything else my definitions of Honor maybe construed as different than your traditional meanings of the word and the ideas that go with it. The best way I can describe them is using examples. Strum Brightblade from Dragonlance and Colossus from X-men. Dragonlance is an D&D world which is beset by three gods that war with each other over the mortal planes. The world was wrought by a cataclysm which a Knightly order could not defend against. The Knightly order fell into disrepute and the people of Kyrnn blamed them for the Cataclysm. Strum was a Knight of that order at a very young age and through out he 30 years after that Cataclysm he continued to hold himself to the code and conduct of his order regardless that it had fallen away, he was ridiculed for it and considered evil incarnate. He did not let others define him, because he knew what he stood for. I honestly don't remember the context, by some point through those 3 books, Strum and his friends are in a keep being assaulted by the the dragons of Takhsis (The evil god - spelling may be off) when Strum climbs up on top of a battlement to fight the dragon on his own. The rest of his order or what remains of it is, is hiding in the keep and not willing to fight. Strum fights solo for a longest period before one of the dragon riders kills him. It got the authors a whole lot of crap from readers for his death. Anyway Strum sacrifices himself which rallies his entire order to fight. Over the course of the novel he is constantly referenced as the source for the restoration of his order.

The second is Colossus. The legacy virus in the X-men universe is like Aids only is airborne and attacks mutants. Illyanna is Colossus sister and dies of said virus. Hank Mcoy aka Beast figures out a cure for the virus and develops a serum which will cure the legacy virus, but what it requires is a mutant to inject himself with the serum, initiate his powers which in turn will kill him but activate the serum curing the world of the virus. The comic was amazingly will written and as always Marvel pushed the envelope on morality and ethics. The part that stayed with me was how Colossus sacrificed himself in the memory of his kid sister. I don't have access to my comics here obviously but the dialogue went a bit like this before he killed himself: How can I live with myself when I know somewhere someone's Illyana suffers just like my mine did. Paraphrasing what 20 pages there but that is the gist of it.

Of course I have not done justice to any of the two examples listed above, but that is all I can truly remember of the incidents. Honor to me means sacrifice for the greater good. Where the benefit of others is seen before your own.

Q:Your advice to fellow desis on how to balance tradition with modernity?
A: Do what feels comfortable. At the end of the day you have to live with yourself and what you do. It doesn't matter what others think. I am a freaking example of that. :D

Q:Your future wife turns out to be more experienced than you, cause for celebration or scream of horror?
A: SCORE!!!! Touchdown! Time to do a half time dance!

Question: Cupcake
Q: Your cat......the creature that shares your bed....that you both loathe and love at the same time........has been kidnapped by the Teletubbies......I mean the Taleeeban. You've only 24 hours to meet their conditions in exchange for the freedom of little Bala (or is it Balak?) You can hear its painful mewling in the background amidst the cacophonous sounds of sinister laughs and the barking of German Shepherds. Will you save your kitty? Or hang up and go back to reading the funnies in the newspaper...thinking "Meh..I never liked the cat anyway." What will u do, CM? What ever will you do?
A: I will assemble a crack-pot team of myself, Jaanwar, one parakeet and two extra value meal from McDonalds. What? We will get hungry. Then we shall hone our skills by playing Call of Duty 4 on the PS3, in addition we will think of cool nick names to call ourselves while we conduct the attack. We shall make a strategy on how to save my KITTEH! with the ISAF special forces, and conduct combat drills with them. Then we shall take a Special flight to Herat, pick up a new KITTEH and bring it back to Farah and call him Bala 2: The revenge.

Q: That said...if shotgun is used on you and you are told you'd be spared if you reveal what CM stands for......would ya do it? Yes, you will be strapped to a polygraph machine to make sure you don't lie; twiddles thumbs.
A: Nope I would not. Better to mess with your heads even more.

Question: Jaanwar
Q: You are stranded on an island with Lady Gaga (without make up on). How long before she becomes attractive?
A: I would sleep with her right away. That was the question right? Yes yes. Bag over face so that I don't throw up. What? She is famous, who wouldn't wanna bag a famous ho? Plus nothing can make that ho look attractive.

Q: Cher or Lady Gaga, when you are at gunpoint?
A: Both....again we are talking about banging them right?

Q: Happiest moment of your life thus far?
A: Landed this gig with the UN. Truly one of the best moments of my life. Proved to myself I didn't need connections or someone pushing for me. Got it all by myself.

Q: The most important lesson that you have learned in life thus far?
A: Life is way too ****ed up for you to worry about the little things in life. Have faith and enjoy life to its fullest.

Re: Q&A: Zindagi aur Aap. Aaj ka Mehmaan: CM's Answers

Question: Hadeel
Q: What/Who do you miss most in your life right now?
A: What do I miss? A sense of security and safety. Who do I miss? My parents.

Q: How important is Gupshup/Life1 to you?
A: Honestly not a lot. GS gets me through my time in my duty station since it is extremely lonely here. But they are sending more people down here, so when I have company I will stop posting. GS is a crutch that I use when I am alone. Not the sanest form of communication, I agree. But don't have much of a choice in the regard when you are alone and there is only so much TV you can watch, books you can read and internet you can download....

Re: Q&A: Zindagi aur Aap. Aaj ka Mehmaan: CM's Answers

Question: Princesjojo
Q: Would you marry a woman who has had mastectomy?
A: Whats with guppans and this question? Seriously. You are the 4th guppan to ask me this. And the answer is yes.

Q: After you fell in love with her if you think love is a possibility? (Bilateral)
A: Well to be honest I am not gonna marry some random chick for no reason. If I marry someone its not for her physical attributes, its about how we get along, how we act together and how she makes me feel. In that regard the fact that she lacks certain body parts makes no difference. The over-emphasis on the physical aspect of a human being is a very narrow view point in my book. Yes physical attraction is a necessary part of a marriage, but that is not the end all and be all of life.

Re: Q&A: Zindagi aur Aap. Aaj ka Mehmaan: CM's Answers

Question: Pakwoman

Re: Q&A: Zindagi aur Aap. Aaj ka Mehmaan: CM's Answers

Question: Fairytale
Q: How religious you are ?
A: To be honest I have no idea how to answer that question. So I will be blunt, I am your average Muslim. I attempt to follow my faith sometimes I fail and sometimes I succeed. But I do attempt to balance modern life and my faith. I do pray but not regularly. I pay zakat. I fast. I go for Jummah prayers yes even in Afghanistan. Rarely miss those if I can. I do not drink but I go to bars. I do not sleep with women but I have dated and I do have a bunch of female friends. I smoke sheesha and that is about it. Cigars and Cigarillos now and then, well only with my Russian friend. I don't lecture my friends on religion and never have. There is honestly no way I can answer this question without going into a long drawn out essay on my life and my experiences. Suffice to say my choice in life is to balance my faith with the real world and maintain a standard by which I am happy.

Q:Is there anyone you respect alot?
A: Parents obviously. But then again that is not the question you were asking. To be honest I thought about an answer for a good long time. 5 minutes. That is a lot considering my ADD. Anyway no real person comes to mind except for my dad.

Q: Any dream you want to come true in this life?
A: Bond. James Bond. :D Ohhh or taking over Pakistan and declaring myself the President and fixing everything in 12 hours and 10 minutes.
