Can someone explain to the drunk guy here that these are not extremist stances? Since they don't involve propagating violence to prove their point, necessarily?
Now yes, if you've got someone who rejects hadith, and then says "oh you don't reject hadith? Okay fine - i"m gonna kill you, or you should be murdered" would be extremist, yes.
But how many people who reject hadith actually going around and saying that?
Its usually people who think that hadith should be forced down people's throats by State force that are of the opinion anyone who disobeys the inherently self-contradicting sets of hadith should be killed.
I don't know what is a murtadeen, so I can't comment unless you decide to come off your high horse and provide me an english translation for the word.
Those comments have been taken from another thread. I can't say much since they're taken out of context - I dont know whether these guys knew he was an innocent brazilian before they uttered those words.
Although myvoice's langauge is definitely harsh, and I would certainly have edited it and sent him a warning to use softer language. Much more of those kinds of statements would lead me to asking the admin to have him banned because he wont listen to my warnings.
But then, I'm no longer a mod, so that's not in my hands to do. I didn't see those comments - if you're offended, then PM a mod?
But yes, if your point is that the extremist language is coming from both ends, then I agree. It is.
Let me ask you, if someone was to draw a picture of mohammed, a historical view on what he might have looked like, per the story of quran, should he be killed?
Okay I understnad if a non-Muslim would be so fascinated by the Prophet Muhammad SAW to teach others then why don't they do a little bit of research and realize that it would be wrong to draw a picture of him? It's very disrespectful.
So why don't they just read and learn that it's wrong and leave it at that? Why the need to even make any artistic imagery of him? There's so much information available, his character is drawn through various recollections, why does one need visuals?
Well if hte person is non-Muslim then I don’t think tey will be held accountable, but I can’t say absolutely for sure. However, most likely they would get their punishment here on earth. This half assed hack artist shouldn’t be surprised that they commit an openly distasteful and disrespectful act and expect the general Islamic public to be happy with it.
Like what Sara..say it? Someone draws a picture of mohammed and it is distateful to muslims, what would happen to him. Considering 5/6th of humanity doesn't care.... might even be interested to see from a historical point of view.
Does it say anywhere in the quran as to the punishment he will receive? Did you know that drawing a portrait of anyone or anything to it's supposed real being was not allowed under islam until the 16th century.
What would happen to him according to whom? You said they're non-Muslims; non-Muslims won't even be held accountable for their sins because they're going to go straight to hell. Accordign to the people? Well lookit what happened to Van gogh, what he did wasn't explicity prohibited in teh Quran (last I heard making a movie showing the horrible conditions of Muslims isn't exactly haram), however you've many Muslims praising his death. What this "artist" did is definitely not allowed in Islam, no ifs ands or buts about it. If those 5/6ths of humanity cared enough to cause an uproar this personwould defnitely be punished under blasphemy I think.
