I think there should be appropriate bannings for those who are using extremist language in their speech. I see people getting real heated about little things to the point that they use very violent speech on this forum. Its a bit frightening that so many people actually feel this way.
There is a twit in Pak 1 forums who is saying that people who don’t pray should get burned by the State.

This should not be in feedback. I’m just curious to see how you people feel about there being so many extremist remarks being spewed over the internet and whether authorities should be making arrests based upon what is said on the internet?
well lets not forget some people say stuff in anger...it's a knee jerk response ..and there are plenty of people in this world and on gupshup who bait people. Obviously the more extreme stuff should be pulled and perhaps members warned.
GS has all kinds of extremists (religious, non-religious, flooders, those who cannot speaking without swearing, etc.). If we start tossing people off this board, I'm sure we'll only have a handful of people remain behind.
If anything, members here need to pratice tolerance.
i think rather than banning these people, the mods should make a sub-forum on gup-shup and call it either “anything goes” or “Rage.” This is where everyone will rant, rave and curse and go allout…get all that pent-up, sexual frustration and agrression out. This is an interesting way to flush out the turds and at the same time entertain ourselves by these clowns. But seriosuly, sometimes i feel stifled on gupshup with all this politically correct boulder dash …and sometimes i just wanna [email=“go…@$$”]go…@$$ && FK…btH..slap Mother…Fk…Wh***…

So then people should be allowed to use violent expressions against people of a particular ethnicity here? So if someone on GS says "Kill all the Jews" or "Anyone who doesn't pray regularly should be burned by the Hisbah Bill" should be allowed to have posting priveleges?
By allowing them to have posting priveleges are we not allowing them to still have an outlet by which to communicate their extreme beliefs to others?
By extremism, I mean using religion as an excuse to propogate violence against innocent people. I don't think that's a relative definition at all, Sharaabi.

Saying everything in Islam is wrong is not the same as saying "We should kill the Christian because he is not a muslim" or "We should kill the guy who doesn't pray 5 times a day".
In the former, you are criticizing the beliefs in Islam. In the second, you are saying that because someone holds certain beliefs, or because they're imperfect muslims, the State has the right to kill them. And from what I'm getting on these forums, I don't think these people think the supposed right is limited to the State, but that this right is also in their hands.
To make the difference more clear its like the difference between:
"Why don't you pray 5 times a day?" or "Why do we have to pray 5 times a day"
and
"Oh you don't pray 5 times a day, huh? You don't close your business to come to the Masjid for your day prayers? Okay, now I'm going to kill you. kills "
There is a massive difference between questioning the validity of something, CM, and killing people because they don't agree with you.
Questioning the validity of religion is fine if it is done in a respectful manner. Show me one instance where anyone of the generalite ilk has done so?.
Hey this is a free forum, and many people here have strong opinions and nothing wrong with them. Muffling people isn't going to change the way they think. It's like saying 'ban all the goras from gupshup'.

I can say that because I was a mod, and I still do associate with some of the mods and ex-mods. And I don't think the generalite population on GS is like this because most of the posts are not that extreme. Its just a few guppies that I see.
the internet magnifies and polarizes things. You could no someone for years in real life and never care to discuss polotics or religion (topics that divide people).
On the internet these issues are discsussed with extreme language. I think you should keep the mediums limitation in mind while reading peoples views here.
CM, I can say that whenever I've visited the religion forum, I don't see that much mudslinging, and Faisal is pretty good about removing objectionable comments. Also, if you see something bad you can tell them , and chances are they'll remove it.
But I'm not talking about whether the comments are getting removed or not. I'm saying you have a guppy who decides that they want to spew out hate language all the time.
Should they be banned? (regardless of the fact that you keep removing and editing their comments)

Pcg, first of all, no one said that we should kill those who dont pray. I dont even think its part of the bill.
Secondly the only extremism i see on this forum is from the ultra liberals, the hadith rejectors, the murtadeens etc. Islamic extremism on this website? name one incident.
PCG, people say things when angered ... passions fly high here. It is not a justification for saying someone deserves to die though. I remember the same thing happening when the Dutch filmmaker was killed. The comments were quite shocking and disturbing, but people were upset and saying things in anger. At least, I like to think they were saying it out of anger and not something they would actually go out and do.
