That’s why proper training and intelligence is so important. Everyday police officers throughout the world have to decide if deadly force is necessary in a number of different situations they face, the majority of the time the choose correctly and when they don’t the consequences are heavy but the option to use deadly force must remain in order to protect the public as well as themselves.

How does one call it “protecting” the public when a person or people from that very public are being shot?
