Purging GS of Extremists II

Alright alright, I half forgive you. :snooty:

However there is a major different between a “confirmed terrorist” and a “suspect” . So where does one draw the line? And you would think that in this age, we would be able to better protect innocent people - especially when hunting down a killer !!

Plus “gun down” is so Hollywood. Real life isn’t like that. There has to be a line ,a clear line as to when it is alright to shoot and when it is not. And why not shoot to capture, why shoot to kill?

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

If security forces think the person is going to blow up a bomb then they should shoot to kill.

And lets assume the "suspect" is your mother or father or sibling. An innocent person who is not a terrorist.

If I think you're an idiot I should throw you over a cliff. Im afraid this type of thinking is exactly why things get worse and not better!

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

That's why proper training and intelligence is so important. Everyday police officers throughout the world have to decide if deadly force is necessary in a number of different situations they face, the majority of the time the choose correctly and when they don't the consequences are heavy but the option to use deadly force must remain in order to protect the public as well as themselves.

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

I do not think this is a feedback thread anymore.

oh well.

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

How does one call it “protecting” the public when a person or people from that very public are being shot?

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

Tragic mistakes happen, do you expect the police to lay down their arms in response to such mistakes? There needs to be an investigation into how and why such a mistake occured which is then followed wth implementing corrections to avoid such mistakes in the future.

If found that proper protocol was not followed consequences to those who broke it must be handed down

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

^ Tragic mistakes do happen, however there should be no room for stupidity when hunting for terrorists. I expect the police force to use their brains, I never said they should not do their job.

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

MQ I agree but we are dealing with humans and mistakes will be made.

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

Profiling is the answer. Israelis have it right. Screw this political correctness. I am Indian, check my louis vitton bag, check my prada belt, check my friggin Zegna suit…I don;t care.

Check every person that looks arab or south asian…be they brazlian, armenian, italian, hispanic..don’t matter. I saw some stupid hippy wearing a t-shirt today- “Profiling is discrimination”..the hell it is…“getting blown up is indiscriminate”..I almost slapped the bitch.

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

As long as they agree to the fact that it is racist and based on the color of skin i have no problem with it. Oh yeah and US stops saying its not a war against islam.

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

So you have bought into that whole 'bit' have you CM, for shame little man.

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

It may be partially based upon skin color and "look" but there are other factors involved with "profiling"....large coat on a hot day, nervous behavior and RUNNING AWAY from the cops when they tell you to HALT. It USED to be ok for cops to say "Halt or I'll shoot"....thats all coming back into being now. So if you're told to halt, then HALT man!

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

^ As it turned out the man was neither wearing a large coat nor was he told to stop, nor did he run away. He was still shot.

Re: Purging GS of Extremists II

oh my. thats awful....I guess i havent kept up with the news, the last i heard, he did have a coat, was nervous and didnt stop when told to. the cops these days are so very nervous not that I'm making excuses or saying its ok what happened....I'd just stop dead in my trax hands up etc if they even looked at me funny. I'd still rather be safe than blown up by some a**hole. The cops definitely need more training to understand what they should be looking for, to be able to use discretion esp when it comes to using their "bullet in the head" policy. but as it was said in some star trek movie..."The good of the many ...outweighs the good of the one." I DO agree with that ... if the cops think you are a threat to the many then you, the one, will be shot in the head. Thats life in these days.
