Re: Punjabi Thread

Main bilkul naraz honda si

Re: Punjabi Thread

“si” makes your naraazgi of the past-tense. So long as it’s not a present state…I’m okay with that. :flower1:

Re: Punjabi Thread

Tuss te barhay taiz ho.

Re: Punjabi Thread

Yes ‘lilan’ is a fabric. ‘Leyllan’ is plastic.

:rotfl:

Kakkarh as in chicken pox?

Re: Punjabi Thread

Great! Thank you, sir :salute:

I am now thinking that just like ‘ni’ is used to address females, ‘ve’ is for males. Am I going right?
In the song “din shagna da”, there is a line “ni sajan doli leke ana ni”. Here sajan is male still “ni” is used. I don’t understant it :smack:

Re: Punjabi Thread

Bachpan se hi hushiyar :chilly:

Re: Punjabi Thread

*Malkaan di kutti gaddi thallay aayee par choon ni si keeta *

@Le_Pakistan

Re: Punjabi Thread

nope…the line is being spoken to the female…sort of translation “ni (o my female friend) sajan doli leke ana ni”…

Re: Punjabi Thread

means sajan is third person here :hmmm:

Re: Punjabi Thread

correct… also, ‘ni’ is mostly used in the beginning of the sentence..

Re: Punjabi Thread

ohk. It was confusing because the she was saying dolna ve..tu mera naseeba dolna..so I thought she is directly addressing him, I mean yaad karte hue
Interestingly, she is also singing lines of her beloved :hehe:

Re: Punjabi Thread

Yes Lyllan is plastic, linen is fabric. While there is no such word as nailon in punjabi as far as i know.

Re: Punjabi Thread

I have hear about naylon as well though.

Re: Punjabi Thread

With all the words ending in si - tussi, ayasi, gayasi, I could not get the following out of my head so here we go ae

*Ojosi Sahosi Balamasi Bhraajosi Devaanaam Dhaamanaamasi

Re: Punjabi Thread

Halka jeya ‘woof’ vi ni su kita?

Re: Punjabi Thread

Third question: Why are Punjabis so fond of singing? Here in India, you will see a singer (perhaps a band) in every mohalla of Punjab.

Re: Punjabi Thread

Fourth question why do Punjabis sing off key all the time

Re: Punjabi Thread

Ajj tow tawanu punjabi munda kahna karna..
