Mohsin Shirazee is around but his son is active here and there...

Can someone tell me, where has that golden era of PTV gone? Why can we not produce something like Dhoop Kinarey or Ankahi or Waris today. Why do we not see any Rahat Kazmi or Saleem Nasir or Mehboob Alam any more? Why is our society no more capable of producing a Muneer Niazi, a Faiz or an Ahmed Nadeem Qasmi? A Mehdi Hassan, an Abida Parveen or a Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan? Well, not even a Nayyara Noor. And, we also do not have the likes of Nannah, Munawwar Zareef or Lehri? God knows how many more legends we had in those (technologically less developed) times. It is a very strange phenomenon! I mean, all the legends that we talk about are from yester years and now we have them as either dead (physically or aesthetically) or about to die. I really don't understand all this? Can someone help me with these riddling and disappointing questions? Have we lost it as a soiety? Have we really lost our social fabric and Identity? I really don't know if it is the right forum to raise these questions but honestly speaking, I couldn't resist when I saw people talking about the Pakistan of that time. So, my apologies.

***YOU POSE SOME IMPORTANT QUESTIONS.

IF YOU THINK HARD , IT BOILS DOWN TO DISHONESTY AND LACK OF EDUCATON. THESE ARE THE TWO MAIN DISESASES THAT ARE EATING AWAY OUR SOCIETY.

OUR FILM INDUSTRY WAS RUINED BY PEOPLE WHO HAD SOME MONEY BUT NO PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION AND AND A RACE TO MAKE MORE MONEY.

EVERY ONE WANTS TO BE FAMOUS & SUPER RICH IN SHORT TIME AND MINIMUM WORK.
WHO CARES ABOUT QUALITY.

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT FROM ILLITERATE PEOPLE MAKING MOVIES.

PEOPLE LIKE SHOAIB MANSOOR ARE A MIRACLE IN THIS SOCIETY. I PRAY WE PRODUCE MORE LIKE HIM

I HOPE WE BECOME MORE EDUCATED.

DOCMUJ

Well may be yes, but may be it runs deeper than that. Dearth of education and lust for making quick money is as old in Pakistan as the country itself. But we did wonders in nearly all spheres of performing arts. Sometimes one doesn't get satisfactory and crystal clear answers for things.
Anyways, I am leaving this here and would like to add another drama to this brilliant list; I used to wait for its telecast in my childhood. The name is "Bahadur Ali". Does any one remember it? And Can anyone tell me; from where can I get (Sohail Ahmed starrer) Fishar (written by Amjad Islam Amjad). I searched the local market here in Lahore, requested Farhan Trading also, but couldn't find it.

Government has announced a fund of Rs.200 Million (Twenty Crore) for Pak-Film Industry to promote good productions.

Right 48 hours after the announcement---two associations have been formed! both daggers drawn at each other!!!

So..the first movie could well end up named as...."KAUN BANEGA CROREPATI"

***While driving past this ROSE farm on Hyderabad-Mirpurkhas Highway (3rd Feb-X) I stopped to do some videoing–which also reminded me of my dialogue in Pakistan Television’s mega-serial “ANKAHI” (1982) where in a scene with Shahnaz Shaikh, Jamshed Ansari and Tabassum…as Sana, Timmy and Miss Maryam…I am trying to impress Miss Maryam..saying “NO PROBLEMS..MEIN APNE GHARR MEIN CHAROUN TARAF GULAB KE PHOOL LUGG WA DOUNGA…MISS MARYAM, I CAN PROMISE YOU A ROSE GARDEN!” So here is that ROSE GARDEN after 28 years !

Re: PTV Plays since 27 Nov-1964

I believe PTV should start a classic hour where they should start showing these plays again, it would increase the viewership. Secondly, aaj kal bhi ptv kai bohat achay plays aa rahay hain ,,,,,,, just like "Baarh" that ended, thora sa aasman excellent play by qazim pasha

aur aaj kal a play "hawa rait aur aangan", one with saba hameed and asif raza mir and another one with sana and javed sheikh

PTV CLASSICS KASAK
