'Bharam' . Another drama of Nadia Khan. It had some gr8 performances by Yasir Nawaz & Anjum Ahmed. Anjum Ahmed is really a fine actress. I liked her performances in Ashfaq Ahmed's 'Sona mila na pi mile' and 'Raahain' playing Daari Mochann.
i dont remember watching this drama behram...but anjum indeed is one of the best actresses...she was totally superb in sona mile na pee mile and rahain....it didnot look like we are watching a person playing a character but looked like as if we are watching reality.
PTV Drama ‘Tapish’ written by: Noor Ul Huda Shah, directed by: Sahira Kazmi. Cast included: Rubina Ashraf, Jamal Shah, Shafi M Shah, Yasmin Ismail, Khalid Anum, Qaisar Khan, Roshan Atta, Anwar Solangi, Yasir Akhtar, Qaisar Naqvi.
Many sensitive issues were handled in this drama including student politics, female harassment, yellow journalism, etc. The intensity of scenes was enhanced through two Nazms ‘Meri palkon ko mat dekho’ & ‘Bol ke lab azad hain tere’ rendered by Tina Sani & composed by the gr8 Arshad Mehmood.
"Neend" starring Maria Wasti and Nauman Masood...the women who fell into coma...anybody still remembers the drama?
I loved its theme music.
and there was another "Aik thi Gurria" . PTV didnt telecast till last episode and there were only 8 episodes we could watch because of the sensitive topic that made PTV to stop.
^ Both these dramas were excellent with new ideas from PTV Islamabad which was otherwise famous for 'Quomi Assembly ki Karawai' and 'Senate ka Ijlaas'.
Neend written by: Iqbal Hassan Khan, Directed by: Tariq Mairaj. Cast also included Sawera Shaikh who also performed in Aagosh, Guest House, etc. I think she is the sister of actor Rehan Sheikh. Sawera did a wonderful job in role of 'Saijal' in Neend.
Aik Thi Gudia was beautifully written by: Asifa Shakir Uzair and directed by her hubby: Syed Shakir Uzair. The cast included Nabeel, Maria Wasti, Abida Hameed and Asifa Shakir Uzair. Asifa also gave a powerful performance in Syed Shakir Uzair's 'Mujhe Saans Leene do' in the role of Bhangan namely Chanddo.
yeah Neend was a very good drama. Janita Zafar who played the role of areej was sooooooo cute. i think she comes in atv's recent drama "mohabbat haar mohabbat jeet". plus i also think she is the daughter of this islamabad actress (can remember her name).
'Aik thi Gudiya' story dealt with the topic of use of drugs by university students. It was released around 1995-96. The drama was banned as they have shown some scenes where students including girls wearing jeans were smoking hasheesh, heroine, etc. PTV then telecasted 'Inkaar' after 5-6 years on same topic.
Maria Wasti played a talented but poor student. Nabeel fell in love with her, but her ultra mod hi society mom played by Asifa Shakir didn't approve that. Abida Hameed played 'Raees Maa Baap ki Bigri hui Aulad' who was also interested in Nabeel and always taunted Maria.
The drama had a very beautiful track 'Gulon main Rung bhare' sung by Asif Mehdi.

I remember it was a great drama and it was PPP government at that time ban the drama. Some people say that Mr. Zardari was suppling drugs in the university so he ban the drama on that topic.
PTV Drama Panaah. Written by: Shahid Kazmi & Directed by: Shahzad Khalil. The drama was aired in Mid 80’s and got international recognition due to its topic (Afghan Refugees), the amazing execution by legendary directer Shahzad Kahlil and superb performances by Uzma Gilani & Talat Hussain.
‘Inhi Patharon pe chal ke’ from PTV Peshawer was another good production. The story revolves around personal / professional problems of female Assistant Commissioner played beautifully by Sanam Iqbal. I think it was the most remarkable performance by Sanam after Ajaib Khana. The other cast included: Zaib Chohdri, Nargis Rasheed,Bushra Ejaz, Wadood Manzar, etc.
The drama had a very beautiful OST sung by Sadaf Iqbal.
ya inhi patharon pe chal ke was a good drama. but sanam iqbal ki best acting maine telefilm "aik mard" main dekhi thi with rashid farooqui....it had the most depressing-unbelievable and great ending....kisi film/dramay main ajj tak aisi ending nahi dekhi. aur S. mazhar moin ko khoosoorat direction.
PTV Karachi drama 'Paadash'. Based on Hameed Kashmiri's novel 'Rag e Gul' published in 'Akhbar e Jahan'. The drama was beautifully directed by Iqbal Latif. It was aired in 90's just before Hawa'ain.

The drama was concluded in just 11 episodes, due to scheduled telecast of Haw'aain, which made the end a little bit disappointing.
Ghuttan was written by Agha Rafiq & directed by Manzoor Magsi. telecasted in 2003-04. The drama was based on Karo-Kari issue. Sanam played the role of a poor girl who had to marry a man double of her age played by Salahudin Tuniyo. Other cast included Jaweria Abbasi, Mamtaz Kanwal, Parveen Akbar.
