Zaib-un-nisa (1999/2000)---directed by sahira kazmi and starred nida kazmi, adnan saddiqui, sania saeed, sajda sayyed and the mota bhai (naam yaad nahi araha uska filhaal) was another gem drama. very realistic, lots of lessons and great acting. specially by sajjda syed...she played the role of typical middle class mother sooooo perfectly. everyone else were superb too.

Sona Chandi was a brilliant drama showing how a couple moved to city life in order to earn and their only aspiration was to lay off the debt they had. This drama had everything, it was very hilarious but it had some very serious and emotional scenes which at times bring tears to the spectator's eye. The innocence of both Sona and Chandi, their nature of being blunt most of the times and not to forget the folk singing by both of them in different episodes of the play, all these things make this play one of the best. The beautiful language used in the episodes of Nawab family (Farooq Zamir, Anwer Ali etc), superstitions prevailing in our society showed in the episodes having Aurangzeb Laghari, Tauqeer Nasir, Shakeela Qureshi etc, how someone moves away from one's parents and eventually repents (episodes having Sajjad Kishwar). There is so much one can write about this play, God bless Munni bhai and Rashid Dar and the entire team of this drama. Its a play which you enjoy everytime you watch it.

It was available on Pakmusic.com drama library (certain episodes were not running). I watched that but somehow that failed to create impact like Sahira Kazmi's previous dramas. Due to some problems, the drama library on Pakmusic.com is not available now.

Re: PTV Plays since 27 Nov-1964
Anyone remember the name of historical drama, where Uzma gilani played a role of woman, who disguised herself as English queen to save the life of queen (played by Tahira Wasti) and was ,therefore, hanged. The performance of Uzma Aapa in that role was remarkable. I think the name of drama was 'Nirtaki'.
