PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

I hope the namaloom afraad are happy now.

CIA’s most senior officer in Pakistan ‘unmasked’ by Imran Khan’s party | World news | theguardian.com

The political party led by the former cricket star Imran Khan claims to have blown the cover of the CIA’s most senior officer in Pakistan as part of an increasingly high-stakes campaign against US drone strikes.

**The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party named a man it claimed was head of the CIA station in Islamabad in a letter to police demanding he be nominated as one of the people responsible for a drone strike on 21 November, which killed five militants including senior commanders of the Haqqani Network.
**

**John Brennan, the CIA director, was also nominated as an “accused person” for murder and “waging war against Pakistan”.
**

The US embassy said it could not comment but was looking into the matter. The CIA spokesman Dean Boyd would not confirm the station chief’s name and declined to immediately comment, AP reported.

If his identity is confirmed it will be the second time anti-drone campaigners have unmasked a top US spy in Pakistan.

In 2010 another CIA station chief, Jonathan Banks, was named in criminal proceedings initiated after a drone strike. Banks was forced to leave the country.

As with the Banks case, questions will be raised about how the PTI came to know the identity of the top US intelligence official in the country.

Although nearly all foreign spies in Pakistan use diplomatic cover stories to hide their occupation, many, including station chiefs, are declared to the country’s domestic spy agency.

The letter signed by the PTI spokeswoman Shireen Mazari demanded the named agent be prevented from leaving the country so that he could be arrested. The PTI said it hoped he would reveal “through interrogation” the names of the remote pilots who operated the drone.

“CIA station chief is not a diplomatic post, therefore he does not enjoy any diplomatic immunity and is within the bounds of domestic laws of Pakistan,” the letter said.

The accusation comes at a time when drones have once again become a matter of intense controversy in Pakistan.

The country’s interior minister, Chaudhry Nisar, denounced a drone strike in early November. Although the attack killed the much hated chief of the Pakistani Taliban, Hakimullah Mehsud, Nisar said it had wrecked the government’s efforts to hold peace talks with militant groups.

And it infuriated Khan, who has built much of his political platform around opposition to drones, which he claims are largely responsible for the upsurge of domestic terrorism in Pakistan in recent years – a suggestion disputed by many experts.

The 21 November strike was even more provocative as it was one of the first ever strikes outside the Federally Administered Tribal Areas, where nearly all attacks by the unmanned aircraft have taken place in the past.

The attack on a religious seminary associated with the Haqqani Network was in Hangu, an area in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the province where Khan’s PTI leads a coalition government.

Khan responded with a massive rally in the provincial capital of Peshawar and ordered PTI activists to block vehicles carrying supplies to Nato troops in Afghanistan.

However, party workers have struggled to identify Nato cargo amid all the sealed containers plying the roads to Afghanistan. The exercise has received no support from the national government and the police have tried to stop PTI workers blocking lorries.

Let them feel the heat and let the American public know how their government and agencies are making the world ever more dangerous for Americans outside the safety of their homeland.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

The (so called) liberals are very jumpy today, dont know the reason.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

There remuneration may be subjected to a cutdown for not putting PTI under enough pressure through their media guns :)

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

PTI nominates CIA Station Chief Craig Osth and CIA Director John O. Brenan for killing innocent civilians in Hangu drone strike > Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf > Insaf News

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

Craig Peters Osth has been named as the CIA station chief in Islamabad.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

Somewhere in this world, MQM is really upset and ashamed that their supposedly huffy puffy media 'lashing and bashing' actually turned into conservative criticism which in return made PTI's case slightly more relevant.

You learn from your mistakes and no should be afraid to correct themselves. Innit

One thing is clear, MQM truly feels that they have copyright over the word 'namaloom', you could so tell their by reaction. lol

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

Unless Republican or Democrat raise this issue nothing is going to happen. Pakistan here is unofficially culprit and breeder of terrorism. Killing of OBL in mid of an army garrison example is enough for them. Channels like CNN, Fox etc are enough to give bad or good name to a country. People listen to them and consider them as truth. Therefore it is extremely difficult to change the public opinion here about Pakistan. In the end it will be ISI who will intervene and kick some arses as usual.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

I do have to agree with the poster above in this case.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

Liberals facists of GS will be burning right now hahahaha

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

I'm laughing on foolishness of PTI lol
Why not named Obama? He is the one who have all power and give orders isn't?
lol named CIA chief my Axx

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

I hope there are more Drone Strikes and more dead Taliban and Foreign terrorists.

Its thanks to these Drone Strikes that terrorist attacks in Pakistan have decreased from the horrors of 2007-2011.

To hell with these Pakistanis and their crocodile tears over Innocent casualties.

If China, Saudi Arabia was launching these drone strikes, there will be daily protests praising these strikes.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

Why not named Pak army chief or ISI chief in FIR? Without their approval it's beyond to think any drone strike. Really sick by who playing games to get politics attention.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

See if we go with that logic as to who is responsible for the drone attacks, the list is very long. From Mushy, Zardari, Army, ISI, Nawaz Sharif, Obama, CIA, and not to forget the entire population of US whose tax dollars are funding this program...

It isnt very realistic to add everyone in the FIR and we all know that neither the CIA station chief not the CIA director will be brought to justice. The idea was to send a symbolic message.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

Messages are sending anyway^_^ public knows very well who was the target on Hango strike. The terrorists always choosing the places where inocient peoples around them. Well, cashing these incident for poltical gain are going against PTI and in favor of JI and other terrorist groups. Why not sent a STRONG symbolic message to Pak Army or Federal Govt?

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

I was waiting for this comment to come out sooner or later.

Whenever a tangible step is taken by PTI, the comment to come out of N-leaguers always starts with "why not......"

Recycling a comment is the easiest thing to do...and that you will never run out of.

Did you miss the memo? PTI has already named those murdered in the drone strike. I dont remember exactly, but you can check Shireen Mazari's press conference from yesterday. I think 6 were murdered. 4 of them were Pakistanis, 2 were afghanis residing in Pakistan for about 30 years, with refugee cards....and 10+ kids injured, a few of them maimed for life.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

You said this in another thread as well, and I asked you the same question there as well, which you never answered, perhaps becuase you dont have one. How have terrorist attacks decreased from 2008? Here is a list for your reference. This is from south asia terrorism portal (SATP), an Indian site. These figures are corraborated by PIPS (Pakistan institute for peace studies).

Number of civilians killed in terrorist attacks was the highest in 2012, and second highest in 2013. Number of terrorists killed since 2008 is lowest in 2013, second lowest in 2012. So the utopia you have experienced over the past couple of years is yet to be experienced by others.

And according to Stanford university, almost 25% of those killed have been civilians. And out of those civilians, about 25% have been kids.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

These stats also include the fighting in Balochistan, and Karachi and Southern Punjab which have nothing to do with FATA which is conflating the statistics.

The weapon of choice for the TTP animals is Suicide bombing.

Suicide Bombing in Pakistan | PakistanBodyCount.org

Total killed by suicide bombings in Pakistan:
2007 - 842
2008 - 940
2009 - 1090
2010 - 1153
2011 - 625
2012 - 243

As you can see, there has been a rapid decrease in suicide bombing casualties which is a direct co-relation to Drone Strikes.

Its like Economics. As Price Goes Up for a Product, The Demand Goes Down. Similarly, Drone Strikes Went Up and Terrorist attacks by these animals Went Down.

Re: PTI names CIA station chief for Hangu Drone Strike

Extinct nahi hotay. We are very productive nation. Pakistan produces around 5.5 million new born babies a year or around 15000 babies a day.
