Let’s try that again … You believe that the narration “Qur’an and Sunnah” is a fabrication, I have already said that both are Sahi according to my position. This void between us does not meet in the middle to become a weak narration despite what few commentators have said regarding the authenticity.

http://www.livingislam.org/fiqhi/fiqha_e78.html10a. The hadith "I have left among you two matters…"The Prophet

said: “I have left among you two matters by holding fast to which, you shall never be misguided: Allah’s Book and the Sunna of His Prophet.”**ref a **Another version adds: "And these two shall never part ways until they show up at the Pond."ref b

a Narrated from Ibn `Abbas by al-Bayhaqi in al-Sunan al-Kubra (10:114 #20108) and - as part of a longer hadith - by al-Hakim (1:93=1990 ed. 1:171) who declared it sahih and - without chain - by Malik in his Muwatta’.

b Narrated from Abu Hurayra by al-Hakim (1:93=1990 ed. 1:172) and al-Bayhaqi in al-Madkhal.](“"I am leaving amongst you TWO WEIGHTY THINGS"”)

Re: psyah's signature

^Bro, you have not understood me. I never said that no Sunni scholar in the last 1,400 years has ever considered the 2nd version of hadith 'sahih' or authentic!

What I was asking was that why you do not have in your signature the 'Sahi version' as in the six major hadith collections!

Re: psyah’s signature

I can understand Quran and Ahlaybayt coming and meeting the Prophet SAWW on the pond of kawther as said in the full hadith…could some1 explain to me what shape or form is ‘Sunnah’ going to appear to meet the Prophet SAWW at the pond???

First of all they are both as widely narrated ... and secondly so I do not inadvertently mislead the average joe

Re: psyah's signature

I said earlier that I consider these as two separate narrations.

In terms of following something for guidance is the position of Ahl-us-Sunnah that the "Sunnah of RasoolAllah(SAW)" is the secondary source after the Qur'an. In terms of our obligation to protect we show "love and care" to the immediate blessed family, by catering for their affairs since they did not receive charity and they did not inherit material wealth.

It is categorical for us that we consider the instruction of RasoolAllah (SAW) above the instruction of any of the Sahabah. This is why it is strange (ghareeb) to take the narration of Qur'an and Ahl-al-Bayt whilst missing out Sunnah ...
