Both look great...esp. Assassin's Creed... can't wait to play that on PS3!
And they're both also available for the 360 as well (or at least they will be). Either way, I wouldn't spend close to $700.00 on a gaming console. I might decide to buy it later. By that time the console and the games would also cost less. I started doing that this generation, and managed to save a lot of money that way.

Why u think so.? i think till middle of the next yr there is going to be some real shortage of PS3... and demand will far outstrip the production... so i don't see any reason for lowering of the price. Once the production is in full swing than may be we will be able to get some good deals.

Yeah, there probably will be a huge demand for a while. They probably will have to drop the price of it to stay competitive. If you remember what happend with the PSX, it flopped because of the high price (~$700.00 iirc). With the huge shortage, the Wii and probably even the 360 will look like attractive (and cheaper) alternatives.

For those of you who are planning to get a PS3, what games are you anticipating for it? Of what I've heard of so far, the games that interest me are Final Fantasy XIII, Ninja Gaiden Sigma and Devil May Cry 4.

Its all bout marketing my dear.
What you are saying is not a good marketing trend when it comes to a mass release.
Its not like a sack of potatoes.
Now when it comes to PS3, the majority of ppl who will buy it are teenagers, young adults and maybe kids.
None of 'em can afford to pay the console prize in full.
So they’ll drop that and get them to buy expensive games.
Im pretty sure parents wouldnt mind forking out a hundred bucks for a game rather than 1000 for a PS3.
Plus there will be tradeins of old PS2 for new PS3 with a few games that will bring the console price down.

Im kind of interested in getting a cheapish linux provided It's not stripped down crazy. The addess bonus of being able to play games withought upgrading a system every 6 month helps, I hope you can use a mouse and keybaord for fps

There's still at least 2 days before its release date. In Japan most people lining up to get one went home empty handed. Personally it's worth my time and money at the moment. Anyone know what are the launch titles for it?

Never heard of Terken and I was sure it was just a typo on your part. Anyhow, if you really don’t know what Tekken is, it’s a 3D fighting game by Namco. Here’s the best fan site I’ve seen for the franchise.

In Japan they’re only releasing 80,000 units (dropped from 100k) so most people are going to disappointed.

its launched in US too now.. but haven;t heard abt any detailed review abt it... just few first impression.. where it is sort of a mix bag for most people.. i think the amount of money it is charging is simply huge... so its only good if you take it as a media center... so negative centiments r mostly due to its excessive price not due to lack of quality... people want that it should be simply something out of the world...

From what I've heard, a lot of people who got one by now want to sell it. On gamespot, I read that people are charging between $2000 and $15000 for it.

Xbox 360 has a better use of shadows and textures, has more RAM, and it is much more easier too make games on xbox 360 then on the ps3 (piece of shizzle 3).
