Re: Provoked - A True Story

:chai: just came back from watching the film

its a great storey the way it was captured was brilliant my heart went out to the woman who suffered alot Aishwariya i thought was quit good playing this kind of role was convincing for me.

over all i really liked it cried my eyes out through the whole film so girls make sure you take some tissue:)

Re: Provoked - A True Story

I don't get it...

This women is being praised because she KILLED her husband... because he hit her?

I know that he hit her alot... but it's not like she was living in a small village... one phone call and the police would have taken the guy away.

I find it ridiculous that this women got a movie based on her... especially one that portrays her as some sort of "Joan of Arc"ish martyr

Re: Provoked - A True Story

bhai, kuljit aluwalia was beated and tortoured for 10 yrs. she was no "modern" second generation indian in UK. she was from a small village from Punjab. and she caused the British court to pass some new laws, that states that if a wife is provoked to kill her husband due to constant humiliating and beating etc, she wont be termed as a murdere or be punished.

Re: Provoked - A True Story

Re: Provoked - A True Story

i think you missed the whole point of the movie my dear freind:)

she is being praised becouse even after suffering for many years she found the courage to go against what she believed as a WIFE,
if her own were not their to help her who says the outside world are their to help,

also keeping in mind that when this all happened alot of the organisations werent available to alot od Asian Woment who DONT know how to read ENGLISH or write it:D

maybe you should read the book its alot more informative ;)
