Well to get rid of your misconception. i just want to make it simple for you as to why we love Allah Almighty.

we wudnt have been muslims nor wud we have known about islam if it hadnt been for the Holy Messenger SAW. Now Allah Almighty sent Hazrat Muhammad SAW with the message of Islam. So we do believ in Rusool SAW…and because of him we love Allah. Reason for this is that Rusool SAW is the MOST beloved of Allahs creation and Allah SWT invited him SAW to meet on the night of Mira’aj. We believe in Allah and LOVE Allah because the messenger SAW told us to love Allah as HE SAW has seen Allah Almighty in all aspects physical or character.

therefore, we love Allah because the rusool SAW loves Allah Alighty as He SAW has seen him SWT.

Conclusion I derive from this is that Love for the Messenger SAW is the Love for Allah Almighty as the verse of Quraan translates as following the messenger SAW is the following of Allah Almighty.
