Prophet Muhammad`s (PBUH) Last Sermon

This sermon was delivered on the Ninth Day of Dhul Hijjah 10 A.H. in the ‘Uranah valley of Mount Arafat’ (in Mecca).
After praising, and thanking Allah he said:

"O People, lend me an attentive ear, for I know not whether after this year, I shall ever be amongst you again. Therefore listen to what I am saying to you very carefully and TAKE THESE WORDS TO THOSE WHO COULD NOT BE PRESENT HERE TODAY.

O People, just as you regard this month, this day, this city as Sacred, so regard the life and property of every Muslim as a sacred trust. Return the goods entrusted to you to their rightful owners. Hurt no one so that no one may hurt you. Remember that you will indeed meet your LORD, and that HE will indeed reckon your deeds. ALLAH has forbidden you to take usury (interest), therefore all interest obligation shall henceforth be waived. Your capital, however, is yours to keep. You will neither inflict nor suffer any inequity. Allah has Judged that there shall be no interest and that all the interest due to Abbas ibn 'Abd’al Muttalib (Prophet’s uncle) shall henceforth be waived…

Beware of Satan, for the safety of your religion. He has lost all hope that he will ever be able to lead you astray in big things, so beware of following him in small things.

O People, it is true that you have certain rights with regard to your women, but they also have rights over you. Remember that you have taken them as your wives only under Allah’s trust and with His permission. If they abide by your right then to them belongs the right to be fed and clothed in kindness. Do treat your women well and be kind to them for they are your partners and committed helpers. And it is your right that they do not make friends with any one of whom you do not approve, as well as never to be unchaste.

O People, listen to me in earnest, worship ALLAH, say your five daily prayers (Salah), fast during the month of Ramadan, and give your wealth in Zakat. Perform Hajj if you can afford to.

All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood. Nothing shall be legitimate to a Muslim which belongs to a fellow Muslim unless it was given freely and willingly. Do not, therefore, do injustice to yourselves.

Remember, one day you will appear before ALLAH and answer your deeds. So beware, do not stray from the path of righteousness after I am gone.

O People, NO PROPHET OR APOSTLE WILL COME AFTER ME AND NO NEW FAITH WILL BE BORN. Reason well, therefore, O People, and understand words which I convey to you. I leave behind me two things, the QURAN and my example, the SUNNAH and if you follow these you will never go astray.

All those who listen to me shall pass on my words to others and those to others again; and may the last ones understand my words better than those who listen to me directly. Be my witness, O ALLAH, that I have conveyed your message to your people".

Yes!!! Yes they heard and reported the same thing. There were 100's of people, since it was Hajj sermon. As a Muslim it is our duty to spread this.

Beautiful Prayer.

Lovely.

Gracious.

Open.

And Kind.

Please don't start this. Enough of that., already.

Didnt Prophet Mohammad gave another sermon at ghadeer after he performed his last hajj...

www.al-islam.org/ghadir

JazakAllahukhair for this reminder Islamabad...Oh how I wish we adhere to it with our hearts...This sermon indeed was the last sermon of the Holy Prophet (SAW) and was maintained with precise accuracy throughout history as its importance of being his last sermon and his own insistence that it be passed down from generation to generation. Scholars throughout the world will attest to its authenticity and not one but hundreds of Sahabas witnessed its delivery so no doubt remains about its accuracy. Once again, JazakAllahukhair...

and whats your view about the sermon these over 140 books are talking about… including sahih muslim and tirmidi

http://www.al-islam.org/ghadir/books.htm

http://www.al-islam.org/ghadir/context.asp?context=mawla

These are narrations but I didn’t find it saying Sahih Muslim or Bukhari. The sources are not given. Authentic sources!!!

On the link i posted earlier if you would click on the full book name icon and scroll down to nad you will find Sahih Muslim there… there are icon on right to look at reliability and bibliographical notes and chain of narrators.

check out .S118, S289

I cannot find any Sahih Ahadith. Could you please cut and paste from there. That would make it more clear. It should have the Sahih HAdith written.

Those are the names of the books of scholars. Scholars are human beings and can make mistakes. What I am asking is to quote me sahih ahadith from the sahabah about Ghadir. I have never heard of it before.

æÞÇá ÇáÐåÈí ÈÊÑÌãÉ ÃãíÑ ÇáãÄãäíä Úáíå ÇáÓáÇã: æÔåÏ áå ÇáäÈí Õáì Çááå Úáíå æÓáã ÈÇáÌäÉ¡ æÞÇá: ãä ßäÊ ãæáÇå ÝÚáí
ãæáÇå. ÞÇá áå: þÃäÊ ãäí ÈãäÒáÉ åÇÑæä ãä ãæÓì ÅáÇ Ãäå áÇ äÈí ÈÚÏí. æÞÇá: áÇ íÍÈß ÅáÇ ãÄãä æáÇ íÈÛÖß ÅáÇ ãäÇÝÞ. æãäÇÞÈ åÐÇ ÇáÇãÇã ÌãÉ¡ ÃÝÑÏÊåÇ þÝí ãÌáÏ æÓãíÊå ÈÝÊÍ ÇáãØÇáÈ Ýí ãäÇÞÈ Úáí Èä ÃÈí ØÇáÈ ÑÖí Çááå Úäå.þ

I have studied Arabic for 3 years. I am quoting this from that website. It talks about Hazrat Ali (ra) being maula. However there is no source. Who narrated this, where did it come from, its source? There is no mention of it being Sahih. I would believe something if it is from authentic ahadith.

Another example:

æÞÇá : ÃãÇ ÍÏíË ÇáØíÑ Ýáå ØÑÞ ßËíÑÉ ÌÏÇ ÞÏ ÃÝÑÏÊåÇ ÈãÕäÝ æãÌãæÚåÇ íæÌÈ Ãä íßæä ÇáÍÏíË áå ÃÕá ¡ æÃãÇ ÍÏíË : ãä ßäÊ þãæáÇå . Ýáå ØÑÞ ÌíÏÉ æÞÏ ÃÝÑÏÊ Ðáß ÇíÖÇ.þ

This says that the hadith "Ali Maula" is authentic. Ok, then where is the source. Who narrated it and what is its authenticity?

Islamabad....scholers can make mistakes but the sahabas couldnt?

:hehe: right where this discussion belongs.. “my hadith books are bigger and better than your hadith books”..

Truth is kids, none of these books are as ‘authentic’ or ‘sahih’ as you’ve been misled to believe all your lives.

If there were indeed hundreds of people witnessing this (all with perfect memories we’re told) then there is absolutely no question of differing texts and variances and all the fights over what was actually said and when.

Treat is as history, not some divine writ.. History is taken with a bag of salt and a lot of peer criticism and is always subject to scrutiny and change based on latest research. Let these books be treated the same way.

Hold fast however to the Qur’an, as it’s words will never change and it’s guidance will remain forever.

no one is saying all the hadith are authentic...one has to use some common sense and just not be too biased

I cannot discuss something with people who have wrong information about Sahaba and do not respect those who were given the gladtidings of heaven.

May Allah guide you and us!

seeing threads like these clarfies for me more and more why muslims are in the state they are presently.....

Excuse Me ! do you even bother to read what i post.... if we have some wrong information, why dont you clarify it.. might be you are wrong or who ever is wrong we can learn from each other ...... isnt it your duty as a muslim rather then cooking this lame excuse... Did you know before spread was spread people didnt have the right information of islam... did Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. leave them like that... If you go and read what i posted on Faisal's thread of the Question about bidat . I have posted hadith's from the book of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. regarding sahabas and also ayats from quran and i have rasied the questions so many times but nobody comes forward and answer and this is the lame excuse you can come up with to ignore my questions... wow how ignorant can you be when truth is in front of your eyes.

Wernt they also the sahabas who for their worldy greed disobyed Prophet Mohammad and went after maal-e-ganeemat....?

wernt they also sahabas who regarded their lives more then Prophet and ran in the mountains... leaving the Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. when it was time of jehad

In the thread earlier about biddat aren't you the one who said that Allah will give Prophet Mohammad the best of the best companions.... then why do sunnis say that nauzubillah Hazrat Abu Talib was a kafir... when he was the one who raised Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H.

Following these deeds of their... by disobeying Prophet can we still follow true islam?????

In your opinon Allah will give Prophet the best of the best... and would raise him in the house of a nauzubillah kafir... on top of it Islam the religon of God .. the dawaat -e- zul asheera was held at nauzubillah the house of a Kafir when places like kabah was there in Mecca too...

What kinda best of the best companions were those to whom khilafat was more important rather then funeral services of Prophet Mohammad P.B.U.H. When someone dies... at times the enemy also come from condolence what kinda best of the best some companions were who left him right after the death just for the issue of khilafat, which could be dealth later......

Does it make any sense to you... can you plzz clarify it to be rather then ignoring what i say by accusing of wrong information without justifying it. Is it best you can do accuse without any justifications.
