Dear brother diwana, humanity is like babies trying to grow up to be adult but prophets are far ahead of their time due to divine revelation on top of their life experiences. The standard for living by is set by God not humans and it was always exactly the same. However humans take time to learn it and along the way they try different things in their own way. So norms of humanity if they are different from divine standard then it is divine standard that is right not humanity. This is why a divine messenger cannot come down to level of humanity rather he has to try to get them to his standard that he receives from on high.
This is why job of prophets was very hard because think about it how hard it is to educate a whole nation. We hardly can cope with each others arguments yet prophets had a whole lot set against them and they had to help them change their minds to be better people.
Old prophets are told about in the quran are held to us as examples for us to admire and follow and that would not be right if prophets were not up to set divine standard.
We therefore cannot prove our prophet was right in marrying a six year old because that was standard by which that society lived. Society lived the way it lived and that is not the standard for the divine prophets. The prophets come to set standard as told by their sender.

regards and all the best.
Please read what I said all along. There is controversy on the age of Ayesha RAA. And prophets did not come to abolish ALL norms of the society.
The prophets came to abolish the wrongful 'norms' (as per divine message) only. Rest they left alone or just amended. :)

My point, dear diwana, is that prophets are not controversial figures even though their opponents do try their best to throw mud at them. They do that is up to them but by accepting that controversy we wrong foot ourselves if I could put it that way.
It is like you know what kind of person your father is and so you know what he can and cannot do yet when others tell you stories about him you forget all that and accept their line and end up accepting that your father was a disputed figure. May be I am failing to explain the point I am trying to make for your understanding.
Controversy is only controversy when there is no solid basis to decide a matter one way or the other but in this case we do not have that problem. We do have solid base to say that our prophet did not do anything against the divine writ. That is it. If we accept that he did then where do we draw the line against false accusations of enemies of islam and on what other basis?
So as I view it you, it seems wrong to me to accept your explanation in this particular regard. So please forgive me if I do not make sense.
