Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) Love for....

Abu Hurairah

I went along with Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) at a time during the day but he did not talk to me and I did not talk to him until he reached the market of Banu Qainuqa`. He came back to the tent of Fatimah and said, “Is the little chap (meaning Al-Hasan) there?” We were under the impression that his mother had detained him in order to bathe him and dress him and garland him with sweet garland. Not much time had passed that he (Al-Hasan) came running until both of them embraced each other, thereupon Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “O Allah, I love him; love him and love one who loves him.” (Muslim)

Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him), the servant of the Prophet, had another recollection:

I never saw anyone who was more compassionate towards children than Allah’s Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him). His son Ibrahim was in the care of a wet nurse in the hills around Madinah. He would go there, and we would go with him, and he would enter the house, pick up his son and kiss him, then come back. (Muslim)

The Prophet’s love for children was not restricted to his children and grandchildren. The scope of his mercy and affection embraced all children, and he showed the same interest and gentleness to his Companion’s children. The following hadith narrated by Usamah ibn Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him) shows this humane aspect of the Prophet’s personality:

Allah’s Messenger used to put me on (one of) his thighs and put Al-Hasan ibn `Ali on his other thigh, and then embrace us and say, “O Allah! Please be merciful to them, as I am merciful to them.” (Bukhari)

Re: Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) Love for....

Only those with the understanding of the shajraa-e-maloona verse from the Quran could understand what this post is about.

Prophet[pbuh] was not a Gandhi .....

Well that's true. Unlike Gandhi, the Prophet Muhammad actually liked black people.

Re: Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) Love for....

brother healthymind
I dont know why 12ers neglect to mention the other martyrs of Ahlulbayt , personalities like

1-zayd b ali
2-yahya b zayd
3-nafs az zakkiyah
4-ibrahim b abdullah
5-abdullah b muawiyah

these people took to the field like Hussain b Ali and had their bodies crucified and burnt as a result of their beliefs.
They are also descended from the Family of the Prophet & Ali

Salaam. Good question there you have asked brother. There have been great sacrifices by many for the mission of Allah (swt) in human history however the status of Imam Hussain (a.s.) is unparalleled. Should anyone make a good research, collecting the stories and traditions concerning Imam Hussain (a.s.), s/he would certainly end up with the Imam (a.s.) as the top example!

From the top of my head, read the following verses from the holy Quran about Imam Hussain (as):

  1. Verse of Purification (Tathir): (33:33)
  2. Verse of Malediction (Mubahala): (3:61)
  3. Verse of Affection (Mawada): (42:23)

Re: Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) Love for....

^ I am not comparing them in any way to the high status of sayyidna Hussain , but comparing them to the subsequent imams of the 12ers who unlike Hussain b ALi did not lead open revolts. So these people I mentioned in a way have more common with Hussain than the martyrdom of the later imams of the 12ers

yet 12ers only commemorate the martyrdom of these 8 imams after Hussain b Ali, and there is no mention of other Alid uprisings that occured during that period

Also I think Ali b abitalib has a status far higher than what any of his sons or descendents ever achieved.Hussain's merits are just a small portion of his fathers

^ salaam again. I will try to be precise and short in my reply.

-Shias or 12ers do not handpick or choose the imams. It was Rasool Allah (saww) who told of the 12 Imams who shall lead his ummat until the day of judgement. For more information you could search “12 imams” in the sahi hadiths at the following: http://www.usc.edu/dept/MSA/reference/searchhadith.html

In some other narrations, Rasool Allah (saww) has even mentioned them by name.

The Holy Prophet (S) has also said, “Hasan and Husain are Imams whether they are sitting or standing.” This statement meant that his grandsons are to be obeyed, whether they sat in peace or came out to war as either will be the will of Allah (swt) according to the time and situation.

I would request you to research the lives of the 12 Imams (as) and put forward a more direct question so it will be easier to answer. Its 3am here and hard to write on this topic as the information available is immese. If you are keen in more research and find our stance then the main souce of research i use is: www.al-islam.org

-As for Imam Ali (as) being better than Imam Hussain (as), i could not agree more with you brother. As Rasool Allah (saww) said after the battle of trenches (khandaq):

“One stroke of Ali at the day of Khandaq is heavier than all the good deeds of my Ummah until the day of judgement” (Maqtal Khawarzmi Page 45, Yanab al-Muwaddah Page 95, Moaraj un-Nabuwwah 4:130)

Imam Ali (as) and the chosen Imams were the chosen best, guided by Allah (swt) to protect the great message brought to the people by the 124,000 prophets (pbut) and offcourse the best of all Allah (swt) creature, our nabi Prophet Mohammad (saww).

Re: Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) Love for....

^ i am familiar with the hadith of 12 rulers from quraish , honestly it doesnt suggest anything about 12 imams of jafari sect.It could also be interpreted as the 12 caliphs who ruled the caliphate as they were all quraishi

the point of dispute is how do we know that Prophet choose these specific imams and not others from the descendents of Ali b abitalib ?

Salaam again.

Once i have time i will provide you the reference for the hadith(s) that mention all the 12 Imams by their names. I am not sure of your faith but if you have any contenders for these 12 leaders from the ruling Quraysh, i.e. Bani Abbas, Bani Ummayya then please share the list with us.

2ndly, all the imams before departing chose and left a successor just like all the guides from Allah had done before.

Re: Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) Love for....

firstly except for 2 none of them ruled , secondly i will await the hadiths where 12 are mentioned by name

Salaam once again.

-I know of more than 2 sunni books that have hadith(s) mentioning the Imams by their name. I will quote you one here as i can not find the other references at the moment.

Book: Yanabi'ul Mawaddah by al-Qunduzi Al-Hanafi
Page: 494

Holy prophet (saww.) said: 'o Jabir, verily my legatees and the leaders of the muslims after me are firstly ali followed by hassan, hussein, ali-ibn-hussein, muhammad-ibn-ali famous as 'baqi'. very soon you shall meet him and when you do so, send my greetings to him. after him shall come jafer-ibn-muhammad, musa-ibn-jafar, ali-ibn-musa, muhammad-ibn-ali, ali-ibn-muhammad, hassan-ibn-ali and the 'qaem' successively. his name shall be the same as my name and his agnomen too shall be the same as mine. he is the son of hassan-ibn-ali and the one through whom god shall relieve the east and west. he shall remain hidden from his friends such that they will not remain steadfast in his imamate except those whom god has tested their hearts through faith.

2- As for answer to your last post, i will quote a short incident from the life of Imam Ali Reza (as):

Mamoun offered the Imam his throne saying "O Ibne Rasool Allah, i wish to present you the throne and the khilafat". Imam replied "Did you ever take it from us?"

Hence as far as Shias are concerned, they all ruled. We believe that the right of Imamat belongs to the imams by the command of the Allah Almighty and Rasool Allah (saww) and we do not make distinction as to who had the worldly 'rule' and who didn't.

Dear brother what would you like to say about Ruler Yazeed,, does he alos belong to 12 Princes????????

Re: Prophet Mohammad(pbuh) Love for....

^ obviously he did rule right ? and he was from Quraish
