True and you have a point there.
I have a friend from Toronto who is married, and gave me some advice regarding marriage. She talked about girlfriends of hers in Toronto and warned me to not do what they were doing. They at 33-35 at that time had met so many guys that whenever one other girl got a rishta from a guy they would check with their girlfriends and because the pool was small, many of the guys had already met one of the other girls.. The girls would find out why he was turned down...and this would skew their perception of the guy. My friend told me that one person's perception is just that..their perception and people change...so give a guy a chance.
I also know girls who are so "busy" with their lives, school, work they have no time to find someone...i think that's a problem too.
Thogh i personally feel wierd about this rishta maasi thing, but they serve the purpose and ppl claim that its the thing of sawaab. Anyways hopefully i will find someone myself before a 'rishta maasi' do it for me :D

You know what everyone has 24 hours in a day (there are ways to have more than 24 hours but thatsa whole diff topic)
the question always is, whatis important..people work about the same number of hours, have a same course load .. yes there are some variation, but you tend to the rest of your life because it is important.
There are very busy people who manage to find the right person, and there are their friends in the same city who dont.
The issue is that i have not seen people take responsibility for it, i.e. I am not looking at the right places, I am not searching better, I may need a different approach, a diff group..whatever. Its always, guys/girls available are lame, they are this they are that, surely that can not be said for major cities where there is a large population.
getting back to the busy point..does one neglect what is important in life just because they are busy? would you not try to make time, would you not try to sacrifice other things..
if i am working 60 hours a week, I will make sure that I take time out which i would have spent otherwise with friends or playing sports or reading to spend time with my wife. when my parents are here, i limit someothing else to give them the time they need.
so when ppl use the excuse of I am so busy that i dont have time to look for someone..i call BS, because maybe one will have less time, but not no time. the approach mayhave to change, how they meet ppl and when they meet ppl may have to change.
But personal responsibility plays a role in it, and as long as ppl will blame their family and rishta aunties and communities for not hooking them up with the match of their dreams..there is a lack of personal responsibility and maybe unrealistic ideal expectations
