Based on a Jane Austen novel, this tale of love and values unfolds during the 19th century in class-conscious England. An opinionated young woman (Keira Knightley) from a family with five daughters, and an arrogant aristocrat overcome their initial antipathy and various other social obstacles to ultimately fall madly in love. http://movies.yahoo.com/feature/prideandprejudice.html
Another remake of Pride and Prejudice. Its out in September. The trailer looks quite good. Judy Dench looks a bit scary as Mr Darcy’s aunt.
I heard about this a while ago. I don’t like the idea of Kiera Knightly playing the role of Lizzy.
What’s this? Mr. Darcy’s mother is in the story? Well I’m glad they are making it different, but nothing will compare to the BBC version with Colin Firth.
ok, i’m already seeing descrepancies between the book and the movie. the whole rain scene…that doesn’t happen in the rain! it’s outside! near the manor! on a beautiful day! why are they ruining a beautiful story like that?
and judy dench isn’t playing the mother. she’s playing Mr. Darcy’s aunt, Lady Catherine. and i must say, she looks like the part.
and donald sutherland…canadian! yaay!
but i agree, i think (so far) Colin Firth makes and excellent Mr. Darcy
I'll watch it only cause it's my favourite story in the whole wide world. I still stand by my earlier comments ... nothing will beat the BBC/A&E adaptation of this story.
keira is pretty but frankly i am sick of her claiming in her interviews how she never puts on any makeup...how she eats as much pasta as she wants without dieting.....its obvious the lady has oodles of makeup on from her pics. and she has like those bricks in her abs.
I like Kiera Knightly although I still can't see her playing the role of Lizzy. I was reading an interview by her saying how she has acne and she hates it when they gloss over her photo to make her look perfect. According to her, she has flaws and everybody should see them.
Despite the fact that this is my favorite novel and I feared they would ruin the story, I actually enjoyd the movie. But don't go in expecting it to be identical. It is pretty close in many ways, but there are elements that seem to be more Wuthering Heights than Pride and Prejudice.
And Mr. Darcy and Lizzie like each other too early and are too nice to each other.
