I absolutely loved it. It is one of the most romantic films I have ever seen.
It absolutely took my breath away … Mr. Darcy’s acting that is.
Now, I think most people here know how obsessed I am with this story, particularly the A&E/BBC version starring Colin Firth. It is very different from that version, mainly cause they had time in the t.v. version to go into more detail and build up the characters more. He was much more cold in the television version whereas in this version, whoa, the guy was really, super affectionate from pretty much the beginning. This was very condensed, but they did an excellent job.
I really enjoyed it … I’m glad they stuck to the original story by Jane Austen.
Mr. Darcy was soo romantic in this version. He knew how to express himself and was so affectionate towards Lizzy … … I love Mr. Darcy.
I want Mr. Darcy right this second, issi waqt … and I want him to call me Mrs. Darcy … and I want to live in Pemberly in Pembrooke mansion …
Kiera Knightly is so extremely beautiful. Even looking ‘plain’ … she’s just stunning and her acting was superb. I really hope she gets an Oscar nomination for her role.
I didn’t like this version and I didn’t like Kiera Knightly in Lizzy’s role. She is too much of a delicate darling. But that chap in Darcy’s role looked pretty ok, reminded me of Collin firth.
But I just rewatched the BBC (Colin Firth) version. Though I enjoyed the new one, there’s no way the new one can compare to the older version and to the novel itself.
I agree Sahar, but for a much shorter 2 hour version, this new movie did quite a good job. The BBC version was longer, so they could develop the characters a lot more and delve deeper into the plot.
Now thats its out on DVD, I finally got to watch it! I have to say I really really loved it!! Every single minute of it! Even though at times it was a bit hard to understand the British accents because of the loud music, it was pretty good. Also, the scene where Mr. Darcy tells her for the first time that he loves her, because of teh rain, I couldnt hear much. Which I guess dint matter cuz I know all the dialogues I was disappointed that some scenes werent in there, but this adaptation was very satisfying for sure. Keira Knightly is so georgous and Mathew something is just awesome!
‘You’ve bewitched me body and soul’ haeyyy
Also, cuz I’ve heard so much abt the A&E version of Pride and Prejudice, I rented that too I loved this one cuz it icluded so much of the book but it also made me realise more that the new adaptation is actually pretty good.
