When I started to go to Karachi university. One observation I made and I used to talk to my friends about was that the girls who were in higher classes like last years of their bachelors or masters were mostly average looking.
If we came across some pretty girl she was either be married (nikah) or engaged.

Maybe the men pestered the pretty ones to get married bcos they were so attractive, and no one bothered with the average ones.

well depends....yes, common sense does say that if someone's pretty she is bound to get alot of rishtas n all that but at the end of the day it also matters that she could be one of those who is not wanting to settle down in a very young age so she might not accept any rishtas :D

I disagree with this. Sometimes, parents are in such a rush to get their daughters married that they say yes to the very first rishta. Cuz every girl starts getting rishtas the moment she turns 16+. I dont think it realy makes anyone more special or watever.Plus I do believe its part of Allah mia's master plan - the right time is different for everyone.

Many factors play into this. I know some older women who are single and MashaALLAH sooooooooo pretty. They are so pretty that it makes people wonder why on earth they're not hitched. And i've seen average looking girls get married early.

I had a friend who was the middle child in a family of 3 sisters. I think my friend is pretty. I mean she looks like a combination of Rani Mukherjee and Parminder Nagra and she gets told that quite a bit too. In fact, she's the prettiest one in her family. But she got married at 27. Cuz she wanted to concentrate on education and didn't wanna settle for just any guy. She got married late compared to her less attractive sisters.

I agree with the points Sid09 and Maham made. Some parents prefer to get their daughters married. Some girls (pretty or otherwise) prefer to puruse their educational/career goals....or prefer to find the right guy for themselves. And in the end everything is destined by Allah.

Mirch, attractive males and females have a tendency to lose their innocence earlier, have more sexual partners, engage in a wider variety of sexual activity and are more prone to infidelity.

Having more choices in romantic partners gives them the opportunity to find a match sooner. Therefore they are more likely to marry younger.

Yeah we liked some of girls from our community and Relatives for my brothers but they were engaged too and of course pretty and shareef (Nice) too.

all my cousins even men and female married at 20 years old, they all live in Pakistan, (they are in great hurry and their educations were not important)

i am only the one live with my parents, sibiling in UK (all relatives in Pakistan) and we all are over 21 years old and not married. they have been asking my parents when are your sons and daughters getting married because they said i am too old at 24! (i am not look old, i look like 20 years old!)

my parents want to us concentrate on educations first then whenever inshallah find the right partner then we get married at 25.

It is strange, Pakistan parents are not interesting in children's education but more interesting in married. In UK parents they want to make sure their children are getting good educations and good life and good jobs to settle for married.

what do you all think?

In the US, the average at first marriage is 25; In Pakistan it is 19- according to wikipedia (google average age at first marriage). that said does that mean Paki girls are prettier? In yemen and bangaladesh it's even lower. Are those people then the hottest?

it's not that Pakistani parents in Pakistan are uninterested in their girl's education , it's just that there aren't enough jobs for everyone. There's not even enough to accomadate jobs just for the men. So Education doesn't really mean much there. A girl can get all the education in the world there, and be jobless. In a sense education is not worth it and it doesn't provide the finacial security for them as it does in the West. So they depend on marriage for that.
