Re: prenatl vitamin

what is considered haram in a pre-natal??..any specific ingredient??

Re: prenatl vitamin

^ some vitamins have gelatin.

Re: prenatl vitamin

^ Yah, most that I have checked so far have gelatin in them

Sahar, have you tried that Nature's Made Multi-Prenatal, is it any good? It gave me a good idea though, I will check one of those natural food stores, they usually have alot of vitamins that regular drug stores dont have

Re: prenatl vitamin

Yes, I am taking them these days. Seems fine to me.

If you are in the United States, go to Whole Foods and try their vegetarian prenatal viatmin. You may also try GNC. Regarding prescription ones ask your doctor to prescribe Ultra natalcare which has no animal products.

Re: prenatl vitamin

I use the Hy Vee brand prenatals, they are gelatin free.

I use the same and it is good and have no gelatin in it.

Prenatal Vitamins Postpartum Mineral Supplement PregVit

‘PregVit folic 5 and PregVit are the first and only prenatal multivitamins that have received Kosher certification from the Kashruth Council of Canada (COR) and Halal certification from the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA). The following certification logos appear on both products.’

But it’s a little expensive ($40 CAD).

really??? is there good news on the horizon? :)

i took multivitamins that have enough folic acid to be considered pre-natal, the VitaVim ones and the Women's One a Day ones and man, they made me so sick. i don't know what i was reacting to, but i can't take them anymore.
i might just have to start taking folic acid on its own.

Re: prenatl vitamin

awwaa mashallah
allah will do the best

Me too :D

Not yet.

i think some ppl dont react very well to the iron in vitamins. That could be the reason for you too.

Re: prenatl vitamin

ira, that's exactly what my boss said too! she was like, i don't respond well to high levels of iron either... but here's the thing, i used to be anemic, so i did take quite a bit of iron when i was younger to make up the deficiency. do i have too much now?

sahar, YAY! i need a pregnancy buddy! i'm hitting the gym hard right after my vacay this december- my friends who've been going throughout their pregnancies have ended up having mA such healthy, beautiful babies, with minimal discomfort.

and best of luck to you and the hubs and i hope you are successful in keeping to your conception and birth timeline (if you have one. we do because we're unrealistic and anal about these things haha) :)

Re: prenatl vitamin

^ Haha, don't worry too much if things don't go along the timeline. God likes to keep life a little unpredictable and fun. :D

One A Day has gelatin in them. I had bought one for me and my hubby only to find out later on that they consisted of gelatin
