Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Today the first round of matches in the EPL were played with Man U and Chelsea both winning easily. Arsenal dropped points in their opening match

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Liverpool also dropped points against new comers Sheffiled United.

This season will be a lot closer than the first one.

I eagerly awaited to see Shevchenko in Chelsea colors. He had a quiet game but shoed some deft touches along the way. Hopefully he will shine as the season goes on.

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

should I also include Serie B in the title, because we all will be interested in Juve too right? :D

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

^ LoL!!! :hehe:

Chelsea lost unexpectedly against Middlesbrough. Although they have signed two fantastic players, some incredible talent (Gudjohsan, Duff etc) has left them and Gallas is also about to leave. Their bench strength is not as strong as it was in last two seasons. It will be interesting to see how Chelsea copes with that. Either they will go down further or will go on a long winning streak.

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Man Utd are looking good...Ronaldo is finally starting to fulfil that incredible potential he has...and saha is looking predatorial...i was adamant that selling a 30yr old van nistelrooy was not a bad thing...watch saha rooney as being the most devastating partnership this year...

And being a Villa fan i have to say congrtulations to Martin O Neill for the chnage hes had at my club...we;ve actually got bottle and grit...we didnt come back from a goal down once last season but we did yesterday against a good reading side...hoping for top half this year...we need a new left back...that JLloyd Samuel is useless...

And for those who saw the highlights did anyone see that disgraceful challenge by thatcher that hopsitalised Mendes...it caused the guy to have an unconscious fit and be put on a drip...and he only got a yellow...disgusting...

Champions League is looking good...Rijkard V Mourinho again...and being a Roma fan its great to see us in the chmpions league again so id like to kindly thank Juventus for that privelege...

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Juve got knocked out of the Italian Cup tournament by Napoli.

hmmm, hard times ahead for the Old Lady i think

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Roma lost aswell...ridiculous they were 3-0 up at half time...

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

^ That was one incredible come back by Inter. Inter will be the team to look out for in coming year. With the strike force of Adriano, Crespo and Ibra with Viera and Figo in support, they are the team to beat in Italy nowadays.

Real drew their first game with Villarreal. It was their first game and understandably Capello tried a few things. Barca however came back to beat Celta Vigo 3-2. Without Ronnie they looked short of ideas at times but won thanks to a superb Strike by Gudjohnsen who was playin his first match since his transfer from Chelsea. Always liked him as player and he will do well there.

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Juve have already made more money than any club playing in these leagues+Europe could make at the end of this season, and its the money that matters in Italy ...:D

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Van Nistelrooij scores his first hat-trick for Real Madrid :k:

he could have had four if he hadn’t missed a penalty

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Juve drew...disgraceful...Roma started well...

As for the premiership...Man U look solid...and congratulations to my boys Villa...got a draw at West Ham...everyones been talking about Tevez and Macherano but it was our newboy Petrov who stole the show...so glas we have Martin O'Neill at the helm for us...

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Today was a big day in premiership as four title contenders clashed with each other.

Chelsea edged Liverpool 1-0 at home through a superb Drogba goal while ManU slipped 1-0 at home against Arsenal.

I am really excited to see Sheva in chelsea shirt but he has yet to lit up the fire. So far he is just feeling his way in English football and hope to see some great things from him.

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Liverpool seems to have found the way up again

interestingly, in SerieB Juve is the team with the least missed points, yet they are still bottom of the table :D

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Barca and Valencia played out an exciting draw to share top spot with Real and Valencia. Barca are seldom able to beat Valencia.

Chelsea are back on top and normal service resumed in premiership. ManU dropped points against Reading and Chelsea took care of Fulham.

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Juventus are not bottom in Serie B anymore :k:

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Liverpool play ManU tomorrow and Barca play Real Madrid.

Cant wait :hula:

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

whoaa!! Real beat Barca quite easily. Barca miss Eto'o. Raul and Ruud scored sublime goals. Ronaldinho not at his sparkling best so far this season.

ManU beat sorry liverpool to effectively end their title campaign. Emphatic display. They lead Chelsea only through goal difference.

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Liverpool seemed to lack passion for the game. United were winning most of 50-50 tackles. Fantastic result. It proves that United are on top the league on merit. They can perform against the “top” teams as well (although I’d say there are teams like Everton and Bolton who would show a lot more fight than Liverpool did).

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

Real really is a Jekyll and Hide:

one day they're nowhere to be seen, the other they are really the galacticos

Re: Premiership / Serie A / Primera Division and other leagues 2006/2007

after another good performance by Del Piero, Juve are now only 3 points behind the leaders in SerieB :k:
