Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Chelsea have taken a 7 point lead and a stronghold on Premiership rivals during the christmas busy season. They have conceded only 8 goals in 22 games with 16 clean sheets. Thats awesome. ManU and Arsenal are still in the hunt, maybe ManU are out but Arsenal were nearly beaten by ManCity.

Serie A and La Liga are on break right now

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Barcelona suffered worst defeat of the season through the hands of Villarreal. They were beatn 3-0. Real Madrid are on a comeback trial under new coach Luxembargo. They beat Atletico Madrid 3-0 and are now equal on points with Valencia.

Juve now have a four point lead over Milan while Inter produced the most memorable comeback of the season to maintain their unbeaten run. They were 2-0 down with four minutes to go before scoring three goals in seven minutes. That was incredible

Chelsea has a very nice lead over the rest of the league - In the last two years - down the stretch one team pulled away from the pack and had a huge gap to deal with - last year Arsenal made it look very easy - and there was no contest down the stretch, but this season the same can be said with Chelsea. It's a shame for Arsenal when they lost game to Manchester United, because before that they were really on fire, scoring goals at will. The Premiership season is all but over IMO.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

^ I agree with you that unless there is a dramitc blip in Chelsea's form, they have secured premiership for this season.

Real Madrid are somewhat consistent under new coach thus far and are goign to push Barca all the way for La liga title.

Milan suffered defeat through the hands of lowly Livorno and handed back Juve their five point lead which was reduced to two points last week.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Arsenal is beaten at home by ManU 4-2 and they lost at home since a while,. Exciting match. Though Chelsea stilll hold a 11 point comfy lead.

Barcelona are now being seriuosly chased by Real Madrid for La Liga title who continue to be consistent under new coach.

Two weeks ago Juve was only two points ahead of Milan but Milan lost two consecutive matches inexplicably to lowly sides and Juve are in a comfort zone now.

O'Shea's Gol was incredible - searches the video

they should make Premiership into something like playoff format - where top 8 or 12 teams contend for the title...

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

^ Oshea Goal was indeed brilliant. Infact the quality of football was high despite the hositility between the clubs

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Real lost yesterday after a seven match winning streak in which they cut Barca's lead by six points (From 10 to 4). But losing at home to Bilbao have once again given Barca a seven point lead at the top of Primera Liga.

Juventus once agin slipped up to a goalless draw and Milan have caught them for the first time this season. They are equal on points but Juve still on top in Serie A due to better goal difference.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

FA CUP de magpies smashed the mighty chelsea today at st. james’ park in the 5th round of the fa cup and i’m thrilled 2 bits. :dhimpak: i think we r the 1st team to beat em in dis campaign anyhow just watching the cocky mouriniho’s face at the end of the match was pleasing enough, gr8 win now come on lads, some much needed silverware for us and the legendary alan shearer who should hang up his boots in shtyle with a trophy in the cabinet. COME ON THE TOON

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Real Madrid lost twice in a row after seven consecutive wins under new coach and Barca are now 8 points clear despite drawing with the bottom placed side Numancia. This is the quality of Spanish football that any lowly rated club can defeat a top club. This is not the case with English or Italian football anymore.

Chelsea are six points clear from ManU with a game in hand so effectively they are nine points away.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Barcelona and Chelsea have almost won their respective leagues in Spain and England. Both are 11 points clear off second placed teams with only a handful of games to be played. Italian league on the other hand is a two horce race still with both Milan and Juve fighting it out.

Real will end their second consecutive season without a trophy. It wlll be a shame. They need to take bold steps regarding Raul, Ronaldo. Raul is ever present in the team and because of that likes of Owen (who is in superb goal scoring form) and Solari are made to warm the bench on regular basis.

Villarreal though are fnishing strongly in Spanish league and in all probablity will qualify for CL next season. They are benefitting from Barca discard Riquelme whom Barca will nto take back next season. Its a shame because Riquelme is one of the main reasons along with Diago Forlan tht Villarreal is in such a good position.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Barca dropped points and that has given new life to Real madrid and if they can beat them next weekend, it can become really interesting with seven games to go. Villareal is upto third place and it is really titght for the remaining CL spots.

Chelsea are now 13 points ahead of second placed team so the only interest remains is for the fourth spot for CL between Liverpool and Everton.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Real Madrid have beaten Barcelona 4-2 in an incredible game of football. It was without doubt the best performance by Real and only if they played like this the whole season. But this win has cut the lead to six points and with seven games to go it is not over yet.

Chelsea are 11 points ahead and not much of a competition there. Only a slip of historical proportions can see them lose premiership.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

great El Classico, Barca and Real playing attacking football throughout the game. And good result for La Liga, as it keeps the title race a bit more open.

It was nice to see Luxemburgo opting for a 4-4-2 with a diamond in midfield instead of the straight line with Zidane on the left. Zidane's natural position is that of a mid-mid, so it was good to see Raul on the left (where he once started his career), Zidane in the middle, and Beckham on the right. Looks like Figo's time at real has come to an end, especially if they're going to get Joaquin, Reyes or Robinho in the summer.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

I thought Beckham was star of yesterday’s game. He was all over the place with his passing as well as he saved a certain goal when he tackled in front of eto’o.

Zizou was top notch :k: His risky header was an evidence of his commitment to the game.

Eto’o is out for the rest of season by the looks of it and La Liga has suddenly livened up. But the match itself showed why Spanish football is so eye-pleasing.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Man United will kill Newcastle on Sunday...

COME ON REDS!!

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Real Madrid win 2-0 today. It seems like the new 4-4-2 system with a diamond in midfield works very fine. Figo's days are counted. Raul on the left, Beckham on the right with Zidane in front of Gravesen seems like a good move by the coach. All four players in midfield playing on their natural position.
With the previous sytem both Zidane and Beckham played out of position.

In SerieA Juventus opened a 3 point gap over Milan as they won and Miland lost to Siena

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

yeh…shame juve couldnt do a job over them scouse murderers

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Top of the table clash between Chelsea Arsenal ended in 0-0 draw which only delays Chelsea's championship.

ManU who are in a mess off late have been beaten by Everton in a premiership match after 10 years. Everton are on their way to champions league. Defensive teams are doing well in europe offlate. Liverpool are on their tail though and it is very tight.

Re: Premiership, Serie A and La Liga 04/05

Juve was beaten by Inter yesterday that allowed Milan to regain top spot in Serie A. In all likelihood, match between Juve and Milan on 8th may will decide Serie A.
