good to see Real back to its best forum :k:
Barcelona gave a convincing lesson to Real Madrid by beating them 3-0. It was dubbed as the game of the suropean season but it turned out to be quite a one sided affair with Ronaldinho, Deco and Eto completely overshadowing Zidanes, Rauls, Ronaldos, Beckhams. Real Madrid were enjoying quite a good run with consecutive wins in La Liga but to no avail.
Chelsea conceded two goals for the first time in a match this season to Bolton but still are at top. Juventas and Milan are continuing a two hourse race but Milan is totally relying on Shevchenko thus far who is scoring goals just for fun. With this much reliance on one man, they wont be able to catch Juve or progress enough in CL.
Did anyone happen to watch Inter-Juve match? Ended in 2-2 draw but an awesome match between two really good teams. Inter might be lying at seventh in Seria A but they are the ONLY undefeated european team this season.
Chalsea are continuing to lead Premiership with Arsenal suffering another loss, this time against Liverpool. That was a great match. Arsenal's loss of form is inexplicable though.
Real Madrid who need to win against Roma in CL thrashed Lavente 5-0 to remind others that they may be inconsistent but they are not finished yet. Valencia finally started winning after a disastrous spell in which they loss some 10 matches in a row.
I feel for you Gooners!
Game: Liverpool vs. Arsenal
Date 28th Nov 2004
Venue: Anfield, Liverpool
Make a note of the above, as this was a landmark event.
Those ppl that left Anfield 5 minutes before the end of the game to avoid the traffic thinking it would finish up in a 1-1 draw missed out on what has got to be the GOAL OF THE SEASON!
When you take into account that Mellor is just a teenanger + the opposition (the reigning Champs ARSENAL) + the timing of the goal (virtually the last kick of the game) and the way he executed it, it has to be a leading contender for the goal of the season.
C'mon, even you gooners have to admit that was a cracking goal, init? I think Liverpool deserved the 3 points in the end... their overall performance was a lot better than the ARSE.

Not only that, but out of the 13 games they have won only 2 and drawn 11. ![]()
PS. Saby, how come the champions league thread is sticky and this one isnt?
Also Fifa World player of the year is down to 3 between
Thierry Henry - Arsenal
Ronaldhino - Barcelona
Andri Shevchenko - AC Milan
I think Ronnie will win.
But they still are unbeaten, right?![]()
p.s There you go :-p I shall make it a sticky abhi. Plus as christman is near, all the leagues will start to heat up with fierce competitions.

I never said they werent, its just an amazing record I think, with so many draws, (I think theyve drawn their last 7 games). What good is being undefeated if your still in mid table miles behind the leaders?
Look at their record, its hilarious.

Arjen Robben and Chelsea have struck a good patch, with a confortable 5 point lead over Arsenal. Man U are in touch with a 3-0 victory as well.
Over in Spain, Barca showed their class with a 4-0 victory, while second-placed Real only managed 0-0.
In Italy, Inter milan finally won from Messina, with a hat-trick from Adriano. Their first victory in 8 league matches. Juventus maintain their 4 point gab over Milan. Both teams won their match 2-1.
Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw at home by current premiership leaders Chelsea in an exciting match. Everton pulling one surprise result after another are at second. Chelsea are sitting comfortably though!
Barcelona is sitting comfortably with a thirteen point lead and by all indications Real Madrid have already given up the chase for La Liga. Like Everton in Premiership, Espanyol are surprisingly third.

Saby,
Just how long do you think Everton's good fortune will go on for? Surely, their bubble has to burst sooner or later, eh? Good luck to them while the run lasts... still al long way to go to the end of the season. As they say, its a funny old game, init!

liverpool 1 - portsmouth 1....yet another disappointing result for the reds :(
Ronaldinho won World player of the year.
Shevchenko won the European player of the year.
Top of the table clashes in Serie A and La Liga this weekend.
Much anticipated Juve-Milan clash ending in a disappointing 0-0 draw but Milan should have won it with the amount of attacks they produced.
Valencia and Barcelona played an exciting 1 -1 draw at Barca's home ground. Valencia could have won it but for Ronaldinho's fake dive in the penalty box and subsequent penalty. Real Madrid won their match but Barcelona have a comfortable 10 points lead.
[BBC SPORT | Football | Ronaldinho wins Fifa player award](Ronaldinho wins Fifa player award)
The 24-year-old edged out Arsenal’s Thierry Henry and AC Milan striker Andriy Shevchenko to the prize.
Ronaldinho won the vote - by coaches and captains from international sides - with 620 points, while Henry had 552 and Shevchenko accumulated 253.
“Just to be here brings me great joy. It is a great victory, as I have never been a great scorer,” said Ronaldinho.
He added: "But we all play in our own way and each of the three nominees deserved to win. I’m even more happy now that I have won.
“I must thank my Barcelona colleagues because I could not have won it without them.”
It was the second successive year that Henry has finished as runner-up in the poll based on the verdict of 157 international coaches and, for the first time this year, 145 national team captains.
Five points were awarded for a first place nomination, three for second and one for third. Ronaldinho gained 89 first place votes, Henry 79 and Shevchenko 34.
Last year’s winner Zinedine Zidane of Real Madrid, who announced his international retirement from the France team after Euro 2004, came fourth

Indeed a deserving award. He is a fantastically talented player :k:
hey...does ne one kno wot date the january transfer window for the english premier league open?
I think its January First.
Real Madrid replaced Remon with the mercurial Brazlian coach Luxemburgo. He had a very steamy stint as national team coach but lets see how he deals with the Galacticos.

Hey I hate to say I told you so... but I think Everton's bubble has finally burst. So far they have only picked up 3 points out of the 9 on offer over the holiday period. Will they recover from today's 5-2 thrashing by Spurs?
