Has anyone heard of this? That pregnant girls don’t go out during.full moon or lunar eclipse ? Does anyone know the reason behind it And is it Islamic or cultural?

i am not pregnant and i still dont go out in lunar eclipse coz people get confused and be like woah chand is out here..

Nah, I’ve heard that pregnant women shouldnt go out during a rainbow lest the baby be born gay or have an insatiable appetite for Skittles.

It is a common myth in desi culture..I have heard of it but only the eclipse part…There is absolutely no reason or logic behind it.Nothing happens no matter how the moon and sun are..!

I’ve heard it too-old wives tale. I’ve also heard a pregnant woman shouldn’t attend a funeral either (I heard this is Pakistan) as my cousin didn’t attend her own great-grandmothers funeral as she was expecting.

i think that’s true pregnant women shouldn’t go out on a lunar eclipse. My mom doesn’t know about that and i have large brownish mark on my left arm as my mom just saw eclipse from her left side.

when my sister was pregnant and there was an lunar eclipse, my mum sat her inside and didn’t let her near any sharp things (knives,scissors etc), as mum had heard that it might cut the baby like ear or a finger tip. Mum said she doesn’t believe it but she just didnt want to take a risk, as she knew a girl in Pak who had a big brown mark on her forehead that everyone said was due to an eclipse.

My MIL believes the same thing, she kept telling me my baby would be deformed if I went near any sharp object during a lunar eclipse

My nanehaal side of the family really believe in this as there’s been two incidents related to eclipse’s affect on the baby.
First was where a lady carved out those dark things on potatoes with a knife while pregnant… she later gave birth to a baby who had the same “carved out” indent on its cheek.
The second was a lady who had just started using scissors to cut something when her father stopped her… gave birth to a baby who had a very small, clean cut at the top of one of her ear.
But then i know of an Aunty who went on a cutting/ slicing spree during an eclipse while pregnant just to prove that its all a myth… her son was born fine.
